Sometimes you just have to take responsibility and just accept something you created does not work. Maybe there’s not enough players maybe none of us are as good as we think we are or maybe the system is completely broken. Regardless a new ranking system should never have been put out this late in the game especially if you new gaming population would have a huge effect. You don’t even have to admit you were wrong just change it already. When somebody can go from a 1502onyx to a champion in like 4 games and another person doesn’t get out of diamond 6 there is something totally wrong with that ranking system. Oh don’t worry I know I know my ranking/ego has been inflated and the new ranking system is reflecting my truskill. Ha.
Considering that the only requirement for making Champ in a playlist is to be one of the top 200 Onyx players in the list, it’s entirely possible that an Onyx player could make Champ in 4 games. All depends on the CSRs of the players ahead of him, or if there are even 200 Onyx players ahead of him at all.
You left out “don’t understand it”. There are instances that can be questionable as seen in the Feedback thread, but in a lot of cases it’s just someone not understanding how it works.

Nah it’s definitely understood, it’s just an extremely flaud system that dropped halo5’s population even lower.

They’ve likely put it in the end of Halo 5’s lifespan so that it can be thoroughly tested for Infinite.

Posts in the MM Feedback thread and around this site would say otherwise. There are many examples where someone complains about their rank, doesn’t understand why they have the rank that they do or why they aren’t moving up in rank and then Dr Menke or someone else who’s knowledgeable will explain it or correct them. Unless you have data to show that the ranking system is causing the population to drop, that claim isn’t really valid.

If you have specific questions/issues, please post them in the MM Feedback thread so Dr Menke can take a look. Otherwise, creating clickbait threads isn’t really helping anything.
