For those of you who have played a solid amount of games 50 high in Halo 3 with a party, you’ll understand my frustration with matching foreign players. Whether they were bridging or playing on a host box, these games were more frustrating than any others I’ve ever played in the halo franchise. They were close games on the EU/AU hosts, but on the rare occasion the host was American it was always a blow out. I’m confident nobody wants those games ever again, so here is the definitive solution to solve the problem.
-
Players CANNOT match players from another continent in Matchmaking
This is the simple solution. Games between players of different continents are simply not fair. If it’s American host the foreigners don’t stand a chance, and there is nothing more frustrating than having to change your play style to beat foreign players on their host. These games are simply a waste of time.
-
If it is a mixed continent party, whatever continent has the most players will get host
If for some reason there is a mixed continent party, whatever continent has the most players will always pull host. If there is a tie in the number of players, then the host will go to the American players.
The only possible issue stemming from this is foreigners not being able to get games in matchmaking. Simply put, you should have to wait longer to get a quality game. US players should not be punished because there aren’t enough players from your country in MM.

Well you’re wrong. You have to play very passively on foreign host.
-
It’s an American game, of there is a tie it goes to the Americans.
-
They’re going to have to deal with it rather than punish American players who can find games on good host, rather than being forced to play on a foreign host.

Cosssta, I’m Italian and I host 9/10 games, so don’t tell that americans have everytime host.
-
I think that separing continents is a racist and bad idea for Halo communities and small nations like maybe Switzerland.
-
If you are bored because (maybe) you don’t get host, try improving your connection and don’t tell these things.

Continents, not countries.

I’m saying foreigners get host when they shouldn’t, you’re proving my point.
-
How is it racist? It just increases the quality of the game. Swiss players can match other EU countries like the UK, France, Italy, Germany, etc. there are plenty of players between those countries to find a game.
-
I have 35 down Mbps down/25 up, and a 15 ms ping. My connection is fine. I don’t care about not getting host, I just don’t want to play foreigners on their host.

Quality of connection is only what initially determines host for a brand new Xbox - after that it’s based on the Xbox’s host record.

Unfortunately (for me) I agree. Being from the UK means I have to stay up to the early hours of the morning to play against decent US players, on their host (I don’t mind this
My philosophy is that if you can do well on US connection, you’ll do even better on LAN).
It’s not really a problem for me since I rarely pull host, - the only downside to your argument is that I wouldn’t want to be forced to only play against EU players (as meeting a challenging EU player in MM is a rarity).

So if it’s a Japanese game, Japanese players should get host? You can tell me I’m wrong, but maybe it’s something wrong with your playstyle. Also, why punish players with something they can’t control? It’s like saying your the only Halo play on an island, so you can’t play with anyone else, but people who play Halo on that island.

Why we shouldn’t get host? The player with better connection get host, simple.
-
It’s racist because it separates continents from playing with foreigners, why can’t I play with an american if I like to and maybe, if I have American friends, why in your opinion should I get separated from them?
-
Why? Don’t you like foreigners?
