So, we need a thing that grants a team that has their core exposed access to all REQs. That is most definitely the time for the guys who are getting their crap kicked in to use a freaking tank. No excuses, if this isn’t implemented in the game 343 is just sadistic and inhumane.
Why should we reward people for doing poorly in a game?
Sounds pretty unfair to me. Destroying a core isn’t that easy already.
Probably not going to happen for Halo 5 and probably not a good idea in general.
Let’s put a scenario in play here. You and your 6 man warzone squad know that you can gain early access to reqs by giving up 3 bases at the start. You gain access to the level 9 reqs and proceed to quick core the enemy team immediately after. That’s a problem. It’s not a bug, rather it’s a mechanic that can be abused to finish games quickly. If there were a way to easily find if losing the bases is deliberate or not, it would work but that’s one of the few things that isn’t easy to convert to numbers.
Then put turrets or something in the base. Give us somekind of defensive option. Lower respawn in home base. Put us closer to the core. Something, anything is better than being screwed sideways and then told “git gud”.
What’s wrong with just accepting that your team isn’t as good as the other team and taking a loss?
For your ideas, they aren’t gonna add stuff to H5’s Warzone. You’d have better luck pitching your ideas in the Halo:Infinite forum for the next game which will most likely have Warzone in it.
If we were expected to accept bad teammates they need to lift the ban if you quit feature. Since they won’t do that give us a defensive option. Also I just got into Halo 5 and I refuse to preorder Halo 6 till I see if the campaign goes back to it’s old standard.
It can be frustrating, but realistically you can’t expect to have an amazing team every game if you’re playing solo especially in a social playlist. Even if you do get decent teammates that doesn’t always guarantee you’ll win either.
Or here’s a better idea. Decrease the respawn timer for the sorry losers. The last thing I want is to sit fuming for ten seconds while I’m being steam rolled. This is to lower player frustration. If the answer is “oh well don’t lose” that’s the wrong answer and bad game design. Or increase the rate the losers gain REQS. It helps to prevent us getting stomped by a mantis, phaeton, Scorpion and other vehicles. Do something for Christ’s sake. Try and at least make the game feel like it can be won! Or let me leave and find a more balanced match! No more banning! Is it that hard?
It feels cheap and unfair that the losing team gets stuck in an endless hell versus the team of super soldiers with snipers and rockets and tanks and planes. At least give us a chance to go out swinging. In the old Halo I might suck compared the the winning guy but at least both of us could take the field evenly and gain equal weaponry. This REQ crap has left me facing a team of monsters with crap gear over and over and over and over. It’s not a good game design and needs to be fixed for Halo 6.
You’ve played 20 games of warzone, be thankful you weren’t around when they first released the Achilles armor and helmet.
The banning system works well enough and should stay in place.
Jip is a joke in this game and the amount of times I’ve spawned as the 3rd base is about to be captured is laughable.
Quitters should face harsher penalties
A lot of the time I get in WZ matches that are very lopsided, a year ago I was ranked at platinum 2 in swat and haven’t played a ranked game since but now whenever I go and play WZ I’m on a team that has pretty much the same ranking as me but we are put up against a team of people that are all diamond and onyx players and we are nothing but fodder for them that ends up being only a 5 or 6 minute game at the most. So you see the problem is still with the ranking system. Most of the people that are on the other team have never played a ranked game but when I look at their stats & see 140,000 kills & only 10,000 deaths in arena games I definitely know something needs to be done about this. So you see it’s not the teams fault that you’re on it’s the broken ranking system that’s in place.

Sounds to me someone hasn’t learn to lose. Why is it so hard to accept a loss? now if you say you recently got into halo 5 then avoid warzone all together since that game mode heavily relies on REQS. Maybe if you played since day one you wouldn’t have a problem because majority barely began building their REQ collection. Also, making suggestions like “having access to all REQS, turrets, etc.” would bring you to the same steamroll when YOU are trying to take their core but you can’t because your enemy is spaming you with tanks, norfangs, banshees, etc. then you’re gonna complain again. who understands you?
If the other team has total map control and you are stuck in your home base, chances are that your team is just being outplayed and adding more reqs into the mix may slow your defeat, but it would probably not net you a victory the majority of the time. If my team is getting absolutely destroyed, I would just rather they go ahead and win so I can move on to the next match
The best way to prevent Steamrolling is to steamroll the other team before they steamroll you.

Wow, Luke, that’s some serious Ayn Rand stuff going on there. I can see where you’re coming from, but for me the key word in that question is “game.”
Life exists to crush the weak and reward the strong. When I game I want an environment, for others as much as for myself, where everyone can, if not be a winner, then at least feel like they’re “in it.” I know that kind of thinking sets a lot of competitive people on fire, but remember that this game already tries to make some accomodations for exactly the kind of divides that I’m talking about. If you want a truly competitive, kill-or-be-killed, Darwinian shooter experience… then you have the arena. Does it really seem too far-fetched to have an essentially social/casual game mode, like warzone, be a place where the developer is willing to put their thumb on the scale if it seems to be tipping too wildly out of balance? Does it seem likely to you that an enemy whose core is under threat will really be able to turn the game based on gaining access to top level reqs, reqs I’d wager many of them would not bother to call in at that stage anyway?
I don’t know. If I was on the winning team then maybe it really would offend my sense of fair play, but I don’t think so. As an overly empathetic person I often find myself taking zero satisfaction from wins because I see all the luck at work and none of the skill. And that makes me feel bad for the losers. How messed up is that?

I’m not wanting it to be a competitive playlist like Arena because I know that it’s not really possible, but I think teams already get plenty of chances to stay and feel like they’re in the game. Sure, I wouldn’t really mind if something was added when the core is exposed like the turrets example, but giving people access to the best REQ’s is a huge advantage which can create its own set of unintentional problems. I know it’s casual, but even casual playlists need some type of balancing. To mention a couple, there’s the exploiting problem which was posted about previously and then it could possibly also create stalemates which can cause the game to drag on for much longer which isn’t fun. Maybe if it was just a one time access to those REQ’s, then I’d be more in favor of it.
Getting your core exposed doesn’t automatically mean the game is lost either – it just means your team needs to change what its doing. I know that’s easier said than done, but it is possible and it should give you more motivation to try and better your situation which in turn will make you feel like you’re still in it. Anyway, to go back to the OP’s title, getting steamrolled is more of a matchmaking issue than a Warzone issue. Evenly matched games are much more engaging and will likely result in less triple caps.
My opinion is… Just because you get out played, doesn’t mean you deserve a crutch. And what makes you think people wont abuse it, people will go for boss kills, loose their bases, then spam photons.
Allthough it was kind of cool in dominion. Back in halo 4 when you killed off the other team in last stand it was fun, same with re caping your bases and stoping your defeat.

Bad teammates he says. I’d like to let you know that you shouldn’t make outlandish claims as people can check your game history here on waypoint. You are often in the bottom 25-50% of your team, with one of the lowest kill counts on the team. You are what some people would call a bad teammate. Welcome to the club :))
