While playing a few matches of Arena with one of my friends, I had an idea for a revival of Spartan Ops. I present to you: Raids (or Operations or just Spartan Ops) as repeatable PvE Content!

Remember Jul M’dama? And how he was built up as a massive villain in Spartan Ops and then taken out like a -Yoink- in Halo 5? They could rectify that with a raid! Turns out, Locke killed Jul’s body double and the real Jul is building up the Covenant Storm’s forces for a strike against Earth. Who can stop him?
Imagine your Spartans returning as Fireteam Crimson sent to assassinate a target behind enemy lines. Spartan Miller will return as your handler, giving you intel and sending support. It can start like the Osiris and Blue Team missions, jumping from a pelican and dodging past enemy fire and ships (Imagine the space sequences from the Dead Space games). Then you hit the ground and go around shooting covies and pressing buttons. The revive mechanic from the campaign can really shine here. The fireteam leader could even mark targets like Chief and Locke.
You’ll have to fight mini bosses and you’ll get campaign-esque cutscenes starring your Spartans. Then you fight Jul M’dama in a multi-staged boss fight that actually challenges players, requiring tactical thinking and teamwork to beat. But once you put a bulled in that hinge-head, it doesn’t end there! You still need to extract! You’re stuck in enemy territory, you think you’ll just wait on a timer and leave? No! You need to call in your pelican and take out the anti-air defenses. Maybe Fireteam Majestic will get a cameo as the Spartan Team sent to extract you? Then you escape!
But what about the reward? What would be worth the trials and tribulations? Weapon skins, Armor skins, even new armors! Random REQs as well for replayability. And different difficulties give you better rewards, rewards that you can’t get in a REQ pack. That way when someone sees you with your shiny new armor and assault rifle, they’ll know you fought your way through the raid and earned it.
