Ever since these most recent changes have been made to Halo Waypoint, I no longer feel that Halo Waypoint is a good place to talk about new and persisting issues as it seems that the community managers just want to push any and all negativity out the window, yes this is a bad thing and there is a difference between hate and negativity, just because something isn’t particularly positive about a game doesn’t mean it isn’t something that shouldn’t be highlighted and improved upon, to possibly make it a positive.
I just don’t feel that having only positivity is a good thing as it promotes fanboyism and if you’re not willing to listen when people point out flaws in your product, that product does not improve.
Sure I can still post whatever it is that is on my mind about Halo here, but who’s going to see it, not all too many people go through the endless amount of forums in the different categories, so the odds of striking up a decent conversation and getting my point across is minimal.
In order to have a balanced Community you need to highlight the positives and the negatives and clearly 343 is trying to remove the negative all together, not by improving themselves but by removing the opportunity for those who speak negatively about certain aspects to be seen, truth be told I don’t want to be part of a community that doesn’t accept the negatives.
Halo has always had positives and negatives, but lately it seems the negatives are matching and/or outweighing the positives and 343 isn’t doing anything to fix them, they’re just taking steps to ignore and cover them up, maybe they just want to try to build their own community and if that’s the case then so be it, I don’t want to be a part of this new community, especially after they had to go out of their way to tear apart the old one.
I still love Halo and I will continue to be a part of the Halo Community but I refuse to be a part of this 343 community where everything is all sunshine and rainbows and we just ignore the bad and only highlight positives because this is a safe space for fanboyism.
