I read posts by people saying things akin to “sprint slows down the game.” That presumes that the base player speed is slowed down like in Reach. If it remains as fast as Halo 3, then Sprint will make the game much faster.
Sprint is good, it adds strategy. Do I want to travel a bit slower so I can travel with my weapon ready, or do I want to travel faster at the expense of not being prepared for an ambush? More decisions like this in-game = more strategy. Especially now that we know you cannot sprint if you are being shot at.
I agree; sprint will improve the game’s speed and it is most definitely strategic and adds more dynamics to the game to be thinking about.
lol, your logic makes no sense.

Or maybe you dont have the mental capacity to grasp logic.
Only a few people are against sprint after the pod cast release. Sprint doesn’t necessarily speed gameplay up, but it doesn’t break it either.
So in essence. Deal with it.
EDIT: Actually. When I think about it. Sprint DOES speed gameplay up. Needing to slowly drag your way across BTB/large maps is slow and is not fun.
In that sense, it does speed things up.

Are you in grade school? How does it not make sense? The OP articulated everything pretty well, I think. I think people were complaining about sprint in Reach because they lowered the base movement speed to accommodate it.

Well.
That and the whole running from fights thing.
But that has been addressed in the podcast. Sprint has been tweaked to perfection from the sound of it.

No. When people complain about sprint slowing the game down they’re talking about how having the ability to run away from people slows the pace of the game.
Increasing the default and sprint speeds doesn’t change this because it’s all relative.

and they have said that if you are shot while sprinting you are slowed down so preventing the whole running away thing for the most part
