Does this mean we will never again hear the . Beep, beep, beep, BOOOOOP?
It’ll be better for objective gametypes, that’s for sure.
It may be game-type specific. We don’t know yet.
Out of everything mentioned this is by far the my most damaging and obvious rip-off.
> It’ll be better for objective gametypes, that’s for sure.
WTF are you smoking??? This would effectively kill objective gametypes for good.
It’s stupid.
Who thought adding instant respawn to MM was a good idea? It adds nothing to gameplay whatsoever; in fact, the only effects I can see are negative, such as people winning a 1v1 then being immediately killed by the person they just bested, because he can respawn immediately and knows exactly where his weakened opponent is.
How will this work in CTF? Flag runs will be nigh impossible if the other team respawns immediately after death.
Why are we lessening the punishment for dying? The objective is to kill without being killed, is it not?
343, why must you insist on fixing what isn’t broken?
> It’ll be better for objective gametypes, that’s for sure.
No it won’t. Have you ever watched high level objective gameplay? It’s impossible to have a successful flag run without having at least a couple members of the other team on respawn for 10 seconds.
> It may be game-type specific. We don’t know yet.
It better be. Ever try playing instant respawn 2fort in TF2? It was a terrible mess and flags could never be captured. I’m hoping it’s just a custom game choice, like how we can increase it now.
yay for bad spawns!
Press X to…wait, what? How did I do that?
> It’ll be better for objective gametypes, that’s for sure.
Not entirely sure if you are being sarcastic or are simply insane.
Im a no on this.
Spawn times were critical to competitive play. Teams would wait to capture a flag until 3 players are dead for example to make a push and gain an upper hand. Though it could work if done right, but im not for it. Still, I will wait to try it before making assumptions.
> It’ll be better for objective gametypes, that’s for sure.
Are you being sarcastic?
Becuase with instant respawn ctf (and other objectives) will be basically impossible to win.
No more map control or objective rushes. Faster spawn killing and unfair revenges.
pressing X to spawn in objective gametypes is ok but in slayer i want to hear the beeps and the boop
I NEVER post on these forums but…
> It’ll be better for objective gametypes, that’s for sure.
…are you -Yoinking!- kidding me?
Have you ever played an objective game in Halo? CTF as a gametype is based ENTIRELY around knowing the spawns, and making tactical pushes when 3 or more of the enemies are down with their elongated respawn time. This completely kills almost ALL strategy and makes killing useless in objective, making it some limited -Yoink- storm dash to a flag.
Out of all of the things I’ve heard, this is the absolute worst.
This just doesn’t seem like a good addition. People will truly not be punished for dying by just being able to push a button and be put right back into battle instantly.
Objective game types would NEED to have a respawn delay or you would never be able to plant/score anything.
I’ve seen some bad spawns in previous Halos and that was with a 3 seconds respawn timer, now with instant respawn I see disaster.
I’m not raging or anything, just pointing out what I think will not be a good implementation for Halo 4.
I’d like to press X to veto this idea.
> I’d like to press X to veto this idea.
Made me lol.
> pressing X to spawn in objective gametypes is ok but in slayer i want to hear the beeps and the boop
^ The type of player this change is geared toward.
> It’ll be better for objective gametypes, that’s for sure.
Someone is used to getting completely destroyed in objective. No, it would be awful for objective. No flags would ever be captured.
CTF would be interesting… seeing as killing people simply teleports them closer to their flag, games would end up with the two teams just standing there staring at each other.
I’m hoping that a) you can’t do it immediately after death, you’re forced to watch your body for a few seconds beforehand, and b) when you press X the bleep-bleep-bloop countdown begins as opposed to insta-spawn.
