Hey everyone. I’ve had an idea buzzing around my head for a while…
I think it would be a cool idea to have a “Press X To Rematch” after games. Lots of times, at the end of some intense games, some trash talk will be said, and a lot of the time, they’ll say “Keep searching.” to get you to rematch them and play them again. On the other hand, maybe you met another team of good skill, and you would like to have a quality game against them again.
I know what you’re saying, “why not just go into a custom game?” well, the issue is that the invites normally come too late. Lots of times, someone person will back out and send a game invite, but by that time, they’ve entered a new match. Do they wait until the game is over, or just forget about it?
I think that this system should allow you to rematch for one more match. If the same team wins, that’s it, go onto the next team. However, if the other team wins, a 3rd and final “Press X To Rematch” will be displayed. After that, the victor is decided, and both players cannot rematch again.
On top of settling some online disputes, this will increase waiting times between matches, and the teams are already connected and ready to go.
What do you guys think?
Couldn’t this be solved by just not backing out the lobby? I don’t think a lot of the people would stay in the game afterwards to rematch anyways.
And I would never rematch someone who trash talks. their sad lives aren’t worth my time if they have to rage at a game. The gamer’s Creed forebodes such actions.
I really like this idea, this will make it so if I have a really good game I can just play another one and don’t have to be at the whim of the ranking system in order to get matched up adequately. maybe someday 343 will implement something like this.
Always thought this was better than just waiting on the countdown. Also the press to party up was a cool feature too.
I’m glad many of you agree with this idea. I just think that it could bring a new layer to MatchMaking, and I believe it would make a good bit of people happy.

No, in Halo 3 you could press X to party up. In Reach, you can stay in the lobby (in non-arena playlists), and all the players will be matched up again, however teams sometimes get mixmatched.
That’s a very good idea. It would be cool to have this feature.
If this is implemented well, it could be an amazingly convenient feature.

He addressed that by saying you stay in the lobby, waiting for the server-searcher to find others.
I would, just to kick their teeth in with another game of SWAT/Arena. Once I do so, I’ll then be like, “What did you say?”.
