Preparing to uninstall MCC

Ok, so we know the microtransactions have been discussed to death well tough toenails I’m gonna keep talking about them!

343 has been radio silent on this issue for weeks now despite the outcry from the community. Polar opposite to the response the first time MTX threatened to infect MCC, where 343 immediately came out and said “There will not be any kind of microtransactions in MCC.”

Well I’m taking this radio silence as confirmation that 343 have elected to ignore the community and go through with adding MTX to MCC anyway, so I’m waiting for the next update, but if I see ANY MTX in the game, its getting permanently uninstalled and I urge anyone against MTX in MCC to do the same.

The reason for this is MTX sully the experience MCC offers, even if it’s just pay to skip the grind, there shouldn’t BE an option to SKIP the grind, there should only be more challenges and more point outputs to make the grind FASTER. If 343 refuses to acknowledge this, then let them fade into a void of their own making.

I cannot stress enough how there SHOULLD NOT be an option to BYPASS/SKIP the grind. If you want cosmetics you get points from challenges, no other way. With MCC it should be how the originals worked, you grind if you want gear, THAT’S how the original games of the MCC worked and how they should CONTINUE to work.

You’re right, it has been talked to death.

Im afraid you may also be right in your analysis.

Maybe here on the forums we are too much of an echo chamber and the eight other players out in the world would love to see MTX added. Who knows.

We’ll see what the next update brings!

This week the last part of that cut content series is debuting in the latest Canon Fodder installment. Maybe in that blog they’ll give some update around MCC or if not there should be some update during August. That’s when the next MCC update is due to drop (near the end of the summer)

All I know is that the second MCC MTX go live, I’m out.

I wouldn’t uninstall but totally agree with you.

I’m uninstalling as a matter of principle.

To stop playing the greatest collection of games, with endless amounts of fun gameplay, just because 343 add a way to purchase optional points, is just insane. I plan to completely ignore this change, and just continue to enjoy playing the game, as I have for the past 8 years.

Well good for you, I’m done giving games that promise no mtx only to add mtx later any kind of support, including player numbers.

Yeah, go with your previously stated plan of playing 5, whuch invented mtx in Halo.

That’ll show 'em

One I only play custom games, 2 the only money I’ve ever spent on Halo 5 besides the base price, was the Voices of War Pack…

I’m not helping them out at all with H5. The difference between H5, and MCC, is that H5 had MTX from the getgo but you could get every piece of armor without them.

MCC on the otherhand never had MTX before, not even in the original games, so all those hours of grinding and actually enjoying working for my armor, are made irrelevant and useless when people can just BUY their way around it after I and so many other people LEGITIMATELY earned our armor.

The other thing we can do is leave steam reviews letting 343 know how we feel. Hopefully if they do go ahead with MTX more people will let them know in the steam reviews.

Oh also I should mention: Halo Custom Edition and Halo 2 Project Cartographer are both great alternatives to MCC on PC. The communities are still alive, and in the case of Halo 2, they push out updates fairly regularly for the game. I think both are free?

I’m on the fence about microtransaction’s in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. On the one hand, it doesn’t affect me in any way. But on the other hand, stating that there’d be none in the game and then to backtrack on that wouldn’t be a good look.

If microtransaction’s have to be in the game, I hope it’s purely for Season Points. If they put skins such as the Avalanche sniper behind a paywall, then… I don’t know what to say. Probably something that’s not allowed on the forums.

What would be worse is if they do add them who’s to say they won’t eventually start reducing the amount of season points you can get from challenges or increasing the challenge requirements to incentivize players to buy the points instead? There are plenty of tactics 343 could use to manipulate the players once you open that door and seeing the Infinite store is enough cause for me to not trust them ending MTX in MCC at the initial introduction to buying season points.

What about for us Xbox players?

You can leave a 1 star review on the Xbox Store. I’ve done it before with MIDfinite.

Oh, and the review system on the Xbox Store isn’t very good from what I’ve heard either.

No idea what goes on in 343i minds but microtransactions is a 100% big mistake for this game.

Halo infinite has had negative reviews for this reason ( I’ve disowned the multiplayer). Adding this feature to a game that has never had a need to add microtransactions would be a video game suicide error.

They need to start reading these forums before it’s too late. Its what there here for.

This right here. Players aren’t just leaving Infinite because of a lack of content or features, they’re leaving because microtransactions are constantly forced in their face.

Adding MTX to MCC is PR and Community suicide, that’s how you kill a game, not extend it’s lifespan.

if mtx would really come (i think it will not) and you can only buy “season points” for the exchange and seasons*, it would be fine - why not? its just cosmetics and there are people who havent that time to grind that much points AND it would support the game, BUT if you can buy exp for your rank or mtx exclusive cosmetics that would destroy the game completely :slightly_frowning_face:

*also points are useless for a long time player, at some point you just have 100 of points but nothing to buy anymore, it would be just funny if a new player already unlocked everything :joy:

Then they shouldn’t be playing MCC if they don’t have the time to grind. You can get 5 points in an hour using PVE Challenges.

Also “It’s just cosmetic” isn’t a valid argument, try again
