So I’m trying to prepare for Halo 4 as best as possible, I love all the story and I am currently reading the book Halo Cryptum (forerunner 1) I know there’s a (forerunner 2) book as well.
does anyone else know of anything else I can watch/read to fill in the gaps or prepare me for Halo 4.

Halo: Glasslands maybe?
Read Halo Glasslands if you haven’t yet.
Yeah I would read Grasslands and Primordium(Forerunner book 2) as soon as you complete Cryptum.
Read other Halo books like Halo: Glasslands and Ghosts of Onyx. Why not also check Halo Legends? If you want, you could also replay some of the previous Halo games in preparation for Halo 4. There’s plenty for you to before Halo hits the stores.

It’s called Halo: Primordium. You should read that too, it’s a good book.
Play Halo 3 =P
Read Ghosts of Onyx and Glasslands, like many have said.
Also the book that come after Glasslands, Thursday War, is releasing in October.
