As much as I detested reach I eventually found ways around aspects of it I didnt like. Either way I never went back to H3 since I had pretty much played it non stop for 3 years plus the grenade launcher and Heavies was loads of fun.
However after seeing all the gameplay of H4 its plain to see H4 is more related to 3 than it is to reach and its safe to say many of the fundamanetals of Halo are back. As such I am done with Reach and never picking it up again.
Its back to H3 for me to sharpen the halo skills of old. It will be a riot to see all the reach players flounder about when H4 drops. Nothing save sprint and a few AAs resemble anything like reach. Heck even the DMR is more like the CE pistol than the reach DMR. Reach players/gameplay fans are in for a difficult transition >_<
PS: 343 Many of us longtime halo fans may give you lots of shenanigans, but trust me when I say we love you for bringing back much of the gameplay that had us at HALO.
Halo 3 was funner in many ways compared to Reach. I actually played Custom Games in Halo 3. I hope Halo 4 keeps good things from both games, but I sorta wish the DMR wasn’t in Halo 4. It seems like the BR is the most underused weapon when it comes to precision. I’ll definitely be playing more Halo 3 over the next couple weeks than Reach.
Halo 3 def i started playin it yesterday to practice with the br and carbine, it has payed off for me in a short amount of time lol hell even sticking ppl with plasma seems easy to do in h3 almost to the point where someone could become pro at sticking ppl as long as their close enough to do it hehe
For campaign practice, it’s better to return to CE: the plasma pistol homing is similar, the enemies are much more harder to hit in cqc, all weapons are useful, the plasma pistol kills Grunts in 2 shots on Easy, needler is a versatile killing machine, sniper rifle is skillful, Zealots jump like Knights, some encounters require prioritizing (i.e. when you get down from the bridge on AotCR and help out your marines).

You’re joking, right?
Only one single thing in Halo 4 is even remotely related to Halo 3 or any real Halo for that matter and that’s movement. Every thing else is related to either Reach or CoD.
> It looks like Halo Reach to me in more ways than a couple Armour Abilities.
Bleedthrough, no bloom (or atleast bloom trapped inside the static reticule), and DMR/BR starts everytime beg to differ.
Every Halo game has had its issues, some more than others but reach was ridiculous. Those 3 thigns above alone by default make H4 worlds better than reach.
At some point one needs to appreciate what they got while simultaneously pushing for what they want the most. ^_~
I don’t see anything in common with Halo 3 apart from the movement speed and bleedthrough.
It won’t be hard to get into the game, it just takes time to learn the new maps and sandbox.
I don’t even want to play Halo 3 with the terrible weapons, maps and netcode…

bleedthrough?
no bloom?
hitscan (related to H2)
jump height?
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<all drastically diff from reach or COD. H4 def has features from reach and cod but you have to give credit where credit is due =/

Good luck man. I’ve tried playing a number of times (I returned reach a couple of months ago), and it’s just a ridiculous lag-fest. Honestly, the hit registration is so much worse even than it was during it’s run as the single halo game on XBL.
