Now its been a issue for a while now and that people want Br start instead of Ar start. Many people wanted Br starts even before the game came out. To be honest this reminds me of Halo 3 of how in regular Slayer you start with a Assault Rifle and a Magnum. This is the same concept in Halo 5. Now Br start would be nice for a competitive playlist that players would like, such as Slayer Pro or even a Mlg playlist (Which I really doubt). In my own opinion I think Ar start is fine start to a match due to the fact that most of the time people are going in close-quarters during the match. What do you think?

BRs are easier to use than pistols. Pistol starts always. The AR comes with both anyways.
I wish I could have slayer BRs that would make my day if I saw that in the pkaylists
Its fine how it is but they need to switch it to Magnum primary, AR secondary. 90% of everyone switches to their magnum right when they spawn anyways. Its more of a quality of life issue here.

I like the BR, and BR starts but so far I quite like Pistol/AR starts in Halo 5. I’m just really starting to think the radar needs to be up thought as it’s useless now because halo is so much faster then what it was.
BR. Always BR.
If you want balance and want to promote map movement and weapons on map that are actually useful then Keep AR/Magnum starts. If you want one a weapon that dominates and promotes almost no map movement then Br starts is for you.

You guys are talking more about what you’re anticipating from this thread than the thread’s intended debate…
I prefer to use a BR, but AR starts make for more interesting games. If everyone starts with BRs then the only real weapon search is for power weapons. If everyone has an AR, then its more vital to find the better weapons such as the BRs, but also the DMRs, Carbines, LightRifles, etc. AR starts have more diverse weapons used throughout the game.

I don’t like the Battle Rifle. Not because of any of this “no map movement” stuff, but rather because the Pistol is more skillful. The only real thing holding it back from being the ideal competitive weapon is its lack of range and slight lack of power.

Exactly what you said. Everyone not starting with weapons that have considerable range makes the game all that more fun. That, and Spartan Charge and Ground Pound become more viable tactics.
I’d prefer a Plasma Pistol start.
Either is fine. There really should be both. But AR starts usually promotes more map movement than BRs that’s for sure.
