Prediction: Halo 4 ranking system

Just thinking, and as I’ve stated a few times I guess, it makes sense if HAlo 4’s ranking (not progression) system consists of officer ranks ranging from cpl to sergeant to captain and above. It was spoiled a while ago that there’d be something similar to the Reach system, and with the sr progression system being confirmed, this is the only alternative for competitive gameplay. Anyway, I thought I’d put it out there and try to claim credit after it’s confirmed.

> 1-50 doesn’t make a game competitive. Nor do AA’s make a game less competitive. Being competitive is a mindset. Pong can be uber competitive…even something like From Dust can be competitive, or platformers like the newer Mario games or Rayman: Origins.
> It’s real simple: adapt (your competative mindset to the new game) or don’t buy.

The MLG mindset is that having the highest rank means your the most skilled. It doesn’t, prove your skill in the match instead of looking for false bragging rights.

I really don’t care what term you use to say the same thing. Competitive gameplay, ranked gameplay, true-skill play list… I don’t mean to imply the sr progression system is any less ‘competitive’ than it is.

MLG players want to show off their skill via their rank. Why not show off skill in your in game performance? I understand that the Halo 3 1-50 was a reflection of in game performance, but actions speak louder than a few pixels. Also there’s still K/D and W/L ratio’s, there are MANY tools for skill based bragging rights, i don’t understand why we need even more.

I was only making the PRediction that officer rankings are going to be used for competitive gameplay…
