Precursors MORE than just a threat...?

Hi everyone!
I cant help it but Im in a hardcore speculating mood right now :stuck_out_tongue: I’ve been thinking hard about the implications of everybody in Halo 4, and about what the realities of the “ancient threat” might be…
Please reply with your thoughts!
SPOILERS

To try and clarify I’ll post links throughout, so please bear with me

Firstly, the Precursors were always said to be able to travel between galaxies.
(Important: Precursor knowledge, so far, on the Halopedia website: NameBright - Coming Soon)
At first the Precursors deemed the Forerunners to be their successors, and were going to pass the Mantle on to the Forerunners.
(Check the previous link for more on this.)

But long after the Precursors seeded life across the galaxy, they deemed the forerunners unworthy of this task. By then, the well-established Forerunners rose up against this and brutally destroyed the Precursors, despite their technology. So, in a last effort the Precursors created the Flood to kill them. And what direction did the flood arrive from? The MAGELLANIC CLOUD GALAXY!! :stuck_out_tongue:
(check out this page and scroll down to Origins: NameBright - Coming Soon)

So I think the situation of the Precursors is much the same as what the Forerunners did when faced with the flood; they were doomed, so they abandoned the galaxy, and killed everything they left behind, in order to exterminate their enemies… Except the Precursors had the ability to go elsewhere and to other galaxies.
Since 343 confirmed Forerunners in-game, and the Flood arrived from far away i think theyre both still ALIVE!!! And maybe the Precursors won’t even show up in Halo 4, but theyre going to have to appear sometime! The Halo series is finally going to reveal its true origins either way

Lastly just to uber-speculate on things, perhaps as things play out the Forerunners will be teaming up with you even against the precursors? Lets not forget there will be Halo 5 & 6 as well… :]

Thoughts?

I wouldn’t use Halopedian as a reliable source of information; it’s often nothing but pure speculation.

That said, the important parts of what you said are true, and a lot of people agree that the Precursors will make themselves known at some point in the Reclaimer trilogy.

I have an idea about the precursors. Since the forerunners have/had the ability to devolve species ex/ humans and San Shyuum, couldn’t they have devolved the precursors as well? 343i has said multiple times we will be fighting new types of enemies now. What if we are fighting several subspecies of precursor that has been devolved by the forerunners? I’m so pumped for the story to continue!!

Prometheans are a definet, and Didact might be in Halo 4 aswell.

I’m sure master chief will fight along side the forerunners against the precursors

My thoughts as far as the enemy and how they tie into the precursors.

After firing the rings, Didact and the other forerunners from the ark went to requiem. Faber was already there with his band of forerunners, there was a bit of a conflict that basically resulted in Faber and his “evil” sect of forerunners winning, the Didact and his prometheans all hid away and entered their cryptums.

So MC gets there, and of course Fabers forerunners are running the place, and they hate humans unlike Didacts crew, hence the hostility. Eventually the UNSC infinity arrives, with the data gleaned from the Chakas monitor, which if you’ve read primordium, is a lot. The UNSC would know who/what the didact was, and would probably understand that he’s on requiem somewhere. So one of the major goals for the middle of the game is to free the didact and his promethean allies from their cryptums in order to mount a proper fight against Faber.

By the end of the game we learn that Faber has ultimately just be serving the real enemies, the precursors.
