So now that we have this picture claiming to be an early design of the Promethean Knight, there probably won’t be any Precursors in the game. In the end of the Concept Art Trailer back at Halo Fest 2011, people were speculating that this picture was of a Precursor. But now we know that it was a early design of the Promethean Knight. Do you think Precursors will still be in the game?
Just because that wasn’t a precursor doesn’t mean there wont be precursors in the game.
What is your reasoning? We still don’t even know what the didact looks like, anything is possible

What does that have to do with the Precursors? I’m saying there is less of a chance that the Precursors are the enemy. Now that the Didact ad Promethean AIs are here.

And i’m trying to say we know very, VERY little about the campaign, so the chances have not dipped at all, but are infact more likely now the didact is confirmed in

You’re not thinking outside the box.
I don’t know, but that thing is 10x better than actual Promethean Knights…

There’s 6 more missions we don’t know about, and that seems like a very small time to introduce Precursors. With the Achievements we got a better understanding. I’m thinking the they will show up in Halo 5. Things get worse before they get better.

The Precursors are the only ones that CAN be the enemy. Long-term at least.
The Prometheans of Requiem have been described as “guarding Requiem’s emerging threats” suggesting to me that they are merely making sure something worse doesn’t get out. Primordium also makes it abundantly clear that the Precursors are returning to test mankind one last time.
But the Prometheans are the new wnemy class. Precursors would be impossible to fight as a regular enemy. Too large, too powerful. So my theory goes: think of the Didact as a temporary enemy, but the Precursors as the overarching antagonist for the series.

according to Chakas/343GS(2)
the conflict between mankind and the Didact can be resolved, or at least postponed, by the Librarian. since at the end of Primordium a UNSC ship under the AI’s control is on it’s way to retrieve the Librarian, i believe there is still a chance that
(A) we won’t be spending 3 games fighting the Didact and
(B) the Didact is not the Ancient Evil

the missions are apparently 1-2 hours long, more than enough time to introduce ANYTHING.
-
Awakening and crashlanding
-
Getting your bearings, where are we, covenant ships crashing in aswell
-
Avoiding the covenant trying to find a soulution, cyrptium (orange ball) flies over not harming Chief cortana explains what it is.
-
Infinity crash lands, go to investigate get captured by Prometheans, talk to the didact e.c.t escape return to infinity tell del rio why they can’t leave and about the bigger threat, he disagree’s but orders full scale assault on the covenant
-
Desert mission, full scale attack on the covenant, mammoths, scorpions e.c.t
-
[Space for Story]
-
[Space for Story]
-
Epic finale boss battle, and possibly warthog escape, huge promethean army assault.

I think that could have room for being the legendary ending for Halo 4. As I doubt all the conflict between them will be that fast to finish.
In Halo 4? I doubt it, but I have a feeling they’ll be the major enemies for Halo 5 and 6.
Maybe in Halo 5 or 6.
I don’t know why I think this but could the Composer have put all of the Precursors minds in the Prometheans?
Is this even possible?

What the…
OP, I fail to see your logic here.
So WE thought that image might show a Precursor…which it isn’t…so therefore there are no Precursors in the game?
To be quite honest, that’s the kind of logic I see going on in Ancient Aliens all the time (Da Vinci was smart, build things well ahead of his time, and since there are 2 years of his life not accounted for, he was abducted by aliens…).
There might still be Precursors in the game. Do I believe they actually WILL be in? No, but it is possible. I personally expect them to play a part in the backstory…and if they will return, I only expect them to be in H5…as a far more dangerous and pissed off Flood…
I think that machine might be the Composer or perhaps a variant of Sentinel controlled by a Geas.

I just meant that since that wasn’t an image of a Precursor there would be less of a chance that they will play a role in Halo 4.

It’s concept art of the Promethean Knight.
