Approximately how many years before 100,300 BCE did the Precursors rise to preeminence in the galaxy?
I’m not really sure, to be honest, but I’m positive it’s a considerable amount of time.
I’m assuming they created the galaxy since they created all or most of the life in the milkyway. Then again they might have just been a regular species that just rose to tier-0 and just created some life for the lulz. Also Remember how the description of Silentium says that the book dwells even back to 10million years. Maybe around that time they rose to power if they did rise to power. Very good question.
Its almost impossible to be sure, due to their image as being the gods of the Halo Universe as far as we currently understand, their own creation is quite a mystery. Its very possible however that they themselves were once in the position the Forerunners, and now Humanity are in, a point of discovery, and learning of ancient races that came before them. But it is most likely that they are the first lifeforms to be seeded or to reach a point of self awareness in the universe.
