The hints in Halo: Anniversary Terminals really put that it’s either the Precursor or Forerunner as the Ancient Evil. What do you think it is between these two?
It’s not going to be the Forerunners. They are not an Ancient Evil. I doubt it’s the Precursors since they are pretty much extinct. Even if the Timeless One isn’t the last Precursor, he still may well be their answer.

no seriously now, I think precursor. it would be a change from the forerunners always being the ancient race of advanced beings.
I am guessing Precursor (and the flood and sentinels).
I am really looking forward to seeing the complete mission of the reclaimer. Clearly it wasn’t simply to activate the rings, I wonder what the rest of the job entails.

You forget precursors are suppose to more intelligent then that of even the forerunners. It is said they can even create life and have eluded to the creation of both humans and forerunners.
