I just watched the PAX panel video, and learned that Precision Editing and right-stick-click-Zoom are confirmed to not be getting a fix. Why would they put in all of that effort into making that big awesome Forge Island map, and not include Forge’s most useful tools that were mistakenly left out of the game from the start, to use on Forge Island?
Thanks for Forge Island, but that’s like asking me for more spaghetti and a fork, and instead I bring you a truck load of pasta and no fork to eat it with.
It’s not like it’s necessary to create awesome maps in Forge mode. With magnets, duplication, and editing coordinates it really doesn’t hinder forging that much.
Yea, but it’s little, big mistakes like these that make me so mad, bro. It’s things like this that make me wonder how many surgery patients are walking around with surgical equipment still sown up inside of them.

That’s…a nice analogy? o.O
I think they want magnets to replace precision editing. However, magnets aren’t perfect either.
They said it would not return in Halo 4, which boggles my mind. The larger Forge Pieces, and even things like Brace Larges can barely be placed correctly due to how it zooms you out in the middle of no where once they are selected.
Them taking out Precision Editing, is just like them taking out De-Scope and Game-Types, and other elements that have always been a part of Halo and simply helped improve the experience.
343i, simply likes to change everything, even things they do not understand… they know nothing about Forge or what makes it so accessible.
Magnets have a lot of flaws, the most common one is that hardly any of the Objects line up correctly when Magnets are used.

Have you ever tried eating spaghetti with your hands. it’s a lot funner and to be honest more convenient. Seriously though, I’m not going to sit back and act like forge is fine but you still can precision edit. It’s actually pretty easy. You can zoom but you can nudge if you are over top of the object. Their are other little tricks too. Hopefully 343 doesn’t just tack these on to Halo 5’s forge and say hey look we fixed it and that be the only thing they do. Halo 5 forge really needs to excel. Forge felt like a step back in Halo 4. It’s really sad to for how much Halo has relied on the forging community since Halo 3.

Magnets can get really annoying if you are trying to line up an object that near a cluster of other objects. It might decide to stick to the wrong object.
It’s a huge annoyance for me. But I would rather have them focus on fixing the mess made in Multiplayer rather than focus on a map editor.
But I do agree; Precision forging should of been in the game from the beginning. There is no real reason why it should of been cut.
