So, let’s start discussing!
As we all probably know by now there have been pre-order bonuses details released by big stores such as Amazon and Gamestop. Skulls include:
Bandana - Gamestop
Grunt Funeral - Best Buy
Pinata - Amazon
Bonded Pair - ShopTo
Now what I wanted to discuss is… do you think these skulls will be Johnsson like exclusives like in Halo 3:ODST (Pre-order exclusive forever) or just timed exclusives like the Bonded Pair one? Because for all we know ShopTo is the only store that’s currently announced that their exclusive skull’s only an early access DLC. But no other stores have gone open with such information, nor named their pre-order bonus as early-access DLC.
So the question is: Do you think Amazon, Best Buy and Gamestop just feel like the exclusivity is gonna increase their revenue from the game if they don’t announce that their skulls are only early access DLC bonuses like ShopTo did or is Bonded Pair really just the only early access skull (For now) among these four since it’s a brand new one?

Early access seems to be the way “exclusives” are going these days. I believe it was stated somewhere that the Playstation Destiny exclusives will be timed. Plants vs Zombies garden warfare(amazing game btw) was an exclusive and is now going to the playstation. I personally like this new trend because in the end now people don’t lose out on content really.
There is no way of obtaining all the skulls without buying multiple copies.
I got Bandanna and Grunt Funeral and Halo CEA and never use them, so I may just sit this one out.
I want to get digital anyway so I don’t have to worry about damaging the disc. Which isn’t to say that I’m rough with my discs, but on the off-chance something happens to it, I have to fork over another $60. With the digital download, so long as I have an Xbox and the internet I’m golden.
I actually didn’t consider skulls when pre-ordering. I just picked GameStop because, how can you beat $11 for on-street-date [arrival] shipping?
They better be timed exclusives. Especially since the only one I can get is the EB Games Bandanna skull, and I want them all.
You can easily beat the $11 street date shipping price. Amazon does it free with Prime. Microsoftstore does it free for Xbox Live Gold Rewards members in addition to giving them gift cards every now and then. If I didn’t already have Amazon and Microsoft online services, I would just preorder and pick up the game in the store. Right now, Microsoft is giving away $10 gift cards for each shipped preorder to everone who preorders in the time frame and $15 (15,000 points) to Rewards members. So yeah, free day-one shipping plus $15 to spend on expansions or other things seems the way to go, but the Bandana skull, which I want for the unlimited ammo to make legendary mode fun, is exclusive to Gamestop. No one has clairified if the skulls will be in-game for people to find and use them after an update (after the 30-days of exclusivity is over) or if we can simply download all the skulls and use them. I think I may preorder the game with the Microsoftstore for the $15 gift card. It comes with the Boom skull, which increases explosion physics by 2. The effect doesn’t really matter if I don’t have the rockets to fire, so I hope the Bandana skull will be released soon, and an official statement can be made regarding this issue. I can wait a month for the Bandana Skull because I will play through all the games on normal or hard first. Then I will use the skull when I play legendary.
They’re just timed exclusives. which i’m happy about. If they were permanantly exclusive, that’d be utterly stupid imo.
These skulls are all going to be available to us eventually, right?
Well, I’m not sure. The month before Destiny came out, the information section on GameStop’s page specifically stated pre-orders were timed exclusives (one of many examples). But, if you check HMCC, it does not states this. So, I’m not sure if it is or not.

I kind of wanted Bandana, so that’s why, but I’ve decided to pre-order in-store, so…
I hope they will be available to everyone later. Would be kinda disappointed if they don’t.
You forgot the Boom Skull you get when you pre-order from the microsoft store.
Also, you get $15 back in Xbox Rewards + License plate frame (something about warthog is my other ride), decal, sticker + other stuff.

i think i heard that they are just timed but still i think its timed since halo4 preorder bousnes i think came to everyone
