Pre order Halo 5?

Recently in YouTube videos and the forms, a lot of players are persuading other players to not pre order Halo 5 because of how 343 “messed up MCC”. I would like for anyone to decide if you want to pre order or not pre order Halo 5.

It has.

It’s better to wait and see instead of putting money into something that could fail for you.

The only point I could ever see to a pre-order is if you think that your local Gamestop/WalMart/BestBuy/Target/Wherever is actually going to run out of copies on launch day. And they’re not.

Or if there’s some emblem or armor that only unlocks with a pre-order. And who cares?

Or if you’re a Microsoft shareholder.

Yes, I’m going to preorder the Yoink out of Halo 5. My hype for it is way too real.

Already pre ordered the Limited Colletors Edition, it’s tradition, and It could be a brick in a box. My loyalty to Halo is still there.

Well, I already paid for my collector edtion…

Here in Mexico City some stores ran out of copies already… but I don’t think we receive as much copies as you guys do

there will be enough copies i have no reason to pre order.

I put half down on the limited edition and if it doesn’t include the season pass I’ll down grade to the standard.

Yes, I preorder any game I’m looking forward to as long as there’s a preorder bonus. Example walmart, amazon, or -Yoink!- giving me $20 site credit. Use that on the next game. If there’s no bonus it’s silly as they’ll easily be available at Best buy.

I will pre order Halo 5, but I am going to wait closer to the release date, maybe like 2 week before, or see if I can afford the special edition or something. Plus I like having games delivered to my house for me to play when I get home from college

My game stop usually has low supply of limited editions, so I pre-ordered.

Actually, I preorder because in my hometown there’s virtually no decent video game shop, so i have to drive ~30 km to find a decent shop(GAME or GameStop). The 27th of October, I will be out of town, studying, and I will not be able to go to the store to buy it. I pre-ordered because when I get home the 30th (that weeks Friday) I can play right away, instead of going home and then driving my car to the shop.

I don’t understand why it matters. I will get H:5 no matter what

Why it matters is that gamers need a scapegoat for blindly buying something then being disappointed in it.

I fully disagree with anyone who has pre ordered any h5 bundle right now, as there is no actual information of what you are getting, just vague descriptions.

I also put the blame on both MS and 343 for releasing a press statement about the bundles when not all of the information is known…even to them.

Gamestops use preorder numbers as an estimate for how many copies to have shipped to them for launch day. If they receive 200 preorders, they will have at least 200 copies shipped to the store. My local Gamestop only orders an extra dozen or so copies, which means that if I don’t preorder I have to get to the store before those dozen people can snag the extras. Add onto that the amount of people who go to midnight releases without a preorder and wind up getting one of those extra copies. Should I fail to get my copy before they’re all taken, I then have to wait two weeks for the next shipment. Why is refusing to preorder worth that risk?

I have no idea where this “your game store isn’t going to run out of copies” crap came from, but it’s complete bunk. Those game stores need to know how many copies to order so that they can hopefully have enough for everyone, without wasting money by ordering a surplus. How do you think they estimate that number? Preorders.
You’re not pre-purchasing the product, you’re pre-ordering it. You can cancel a preorder at any time, even a few days after release in some cases. Your money isn’t going to the game developer, your money is going to Gamestop (or wherever else you preordered) in advance of the game’s release in exchange for them holding a copy for you. If you decide that you don’t want the game, you can cancel that preorder and get your money back.
There is absolutely no reason to not preorder, and several reasons (including bonus content and limited editions) to preorder.

TL;DR in bold.

Not sure if I want to preorder the $250 collectors edition or get the game digitally.

These days I’m only pre-ordering games if I intend to get the limited edition.

So yes, I pre-ordered Halo 5.

No, what’s the point of pre-ordering?
