I love pre-order bonuses. I just hate it when there is a different in game bonus depending on which store you got the game from (War for Cybertron.)
Anyway, I think I know the perfect pre-order bonus for Halo 4.
Pre-order it from any retail chain and you get the Pre-Xbox MJOLNIR armor (of course more detailed.)
Each retail chain can have other exclusive offers that pertain to their store. I know gamestop had a small deal that didn’t include any in-game armor.

I’ve been think, over the last few days, about the idea of character skins for the Chief in campaign. Imagine playing as CE Chief, or CEA chief, or Halo 3 chief, or, pre-xbox Chief.

Honestly? I don’t know. I mean I guess if they polish it up real nice but I’d rather see something totally new and unexpected.
Like I said, not the exact look. Just a really good updated version. Kinda like how the Mark V looks in Anniversary compared in the original game. It’s the same thing, just more detailed and in current gen graphics.
Wouldn’t be a good idea, seeing as in Halsey’s Journal it shows the canon appearance of Mk. IV, and it appears to be based off of the pre xbox armor.

There are multiple versions of Mk. IV, but the way it looks in Halo Wars is the canon default. What was shown in Halsey’s journal were early sketches of the armor, and her ideas concerning it.

Are you serious? If I remember correctly, the Armor Effects aren’t canon yet they’re available. Minh is dead in Gears 3 but he’s still available in multiplayer.
Also the Mark IV in Halo Wars is the Limited Production Model, not the intended variant.

I completely love the OP’s suggestion 100%, I’ve always wanted that armor. If your really going to hate on pre-order’s then ask for the armor to be unlock-able later in the game.

The final version of ce armor (mark 5 I think) looks to similar to the concept and having it would be a bad pre order bonus instead of getting something amazing

And how do you know all those are on the disc? I have no experience with those games.
The games I play (Gears of War, Halo, Deus Ex) do no lock people out of content. You get a download code to download the extra content. It’s not locked out, its an added-on bonus.
