I just read a thread where the OP hopes that content gained through pre-ordering doesn’t end up being sold on the XBL marketplace later on.
Here’s where I disagree:
Content gained through pre-ordering at a store is STORE exclusive, meaning that each major store that sells the game has its own unique item that you can only get through getting it there. If I want armor skin B that is sold from Gamestop, I can only get it there. THAT’S where exclusive comes into play. Never ever does it say that the people who buy it will have it exclusively forever…
If Microsoft decides to sell these items later on, they can, and they aren’t misleading anyone.
Also, just to clarify, I HATE pre-order bonuses. I think that instead of segregation content, everyone should be able to have it rather than having to put down money at certain stores.
> If you want limited edition’s armor and Yoink!, fork up $99.99 plus tax or $399.99 plus tax it’s that easy.
I agree with this statement completely.
But lets all be honest here. I have no doubt, no doubt at all by like June or July 2013 for $10 or $15 the “limited” edition stuff will be DLC for everyone to buy as marketplace and/or charity.
Forza has burned me last two times doing this.
Instead of calling these things (which is not dishonest BUT VERY misleading) should be changed to “Limited Timeframe Before Everyone Can Buy This Same Stuff Cheaper Then What You Paid To Support The Developers And The Series Edition”.
That title be more forward to its customers. I can only say this not as a bash but as what I have seen over the years and what Forza has done to me.
