Pre Order Bonus Questions

Yeah, I haven’t found any other forums for this but I wanna ask about some of the pre order bonuses.

First, when you get the bonus skins can you immediately use them or do you have to unlock the armor first (as in halo reach)? Namely the forerunner (Venator) Armor.

Second, The only Play.com website I found was a UK site. Is there a site for the US? If not, is there any other way to get the Deadeye helmet? I would rather have that than just a skin. Of course, I wouldn’t mind having them all either lol.

Please help!!!

  1. Pretty sure they are immediately available for all armors (they aren’t armor specific)

  2. I’m not sure about that one, probably not

If I am right, the armour skins are for all armours, not exclusive to the one it is being advertised for.

As for the Deadeye, you can only get it if you pre-order from Play.com, they do international shipping so you can always pre-order from the US and still get it.

The skins that come with the pre-order from that store: you will instantly unlock it because you redeemed the code to get it. The armour: you’ll have to work your way up your levels to unlock the armour you want.
The skins are not designed specifically for a certain armour, you can have any skin on any armour you want. The pictures you see of the skins on the armour are just examples of what the skins look like and how well they look with armours like those.

Secondly: play.com is only for the UK and the European Federation.
But like Moa said: play.com may do international shipping, so you could order the skin you want from play.com.

Oh cool, thanks for the quick reply’s. I guess I just wasn’t sure if I wanted to pre-order from out of country, I figure the more distance it has to travel the more can go wrong. Also, it would arrive at least a few days if not weeks later than the release date, wouldn’t it? I cant imagine them being able to send out early copies.
Maybe I’ll just stick with Best Buy or Game Stop (I heard Best Buy has made some people pay full price up front, I have yet to call them and find out if this is true).
Also, does any one know if the arctic skin is available from Game Stop or just from EB Games?

I must say, this pre order stuff is really confusing me. I hope that the skins are not armor specific, but then again, the Locus and Deadeye helmet skins are. That also means that there are separate skins for each body part, since those helmets have their own skins, unless selecting those skins will give your body the default skin while your helmets look special. So confusing :frowning:

Not necessarily, most times they will send it off early to ensure it arrives on release date, even international shipping will do it, it all depends on if you pay extra money for it to get to you on release day.

The Artic BR Camo can only be gotten from EB Games and not Gamestop.

I thought I heard somewhere that the skins are specifically for the armor they are shown with (maybe halo 4 follower) but I might wrong.

As for deadeye i don’t think play.com ships to america but I heard bestbuy canada has both venator/raptor and deadeye

To add to what you said: You have got a point there. You could have a different helmet skin that is not part of the body skin. It would make you more unique into the battlefield which is good. I doubt there’ll be different selections like “Helmet Skin, Chest Skin, Legs Skin and Arms Skin”, because if you were to have completely different skins on your Spartan: it would look so weird.
And the part what you said about “I hope that the skins are not armor specific”, my quote’ll explain…

> The skins are not designed specifically for a certain armour, you can have any skin on any armour you want.

I wouldn’t say just Deadeye and Locus etc., there’ll be loads more helmets, even the wetwork specialization helmet that 343 shown could be a good one for skins. Even some helmets with big visors or any kind of visors could end up looking a lot better than the non-visored helmets, we’ll never know till’ we see.

It’ll become less confusing when it comes closer to launch. :3

okay about the dead eye skin all you get is the skin not the helmet the helmet is just for display purposes you may be able to unlock it via waypoint or rank advancement

Let us pray!!!

I heard that too, on Readyuplive.com. Infact…Info on Halo 4 Pre-Order skins (video)

The Canada thing might be the best option. I actually called Best Buy and they only charge full price up front if you pre-order online. If you do it instore it’s only $5 until you pick the game up. Nice, one less problem.

So if all you get is the skin… well the helmet is really what I want.
