Pre-Game Lobby Essentials

While playing halo, players spend a substantial amount of time in pre-game lobbies and post-game lobbies and it sucks just seeing a loading bar and a map with nothing to look at before the game. Here are some concise points that I hope 343i considers

  1. Allow us to navigate each player’s service record, file share, toggle mute, gamer-card, etc in the pre-game/post-game lobby.
  2. Veto Button
  3. Party-Up Button

What additions would you like to see in a pre-game lobby?

Definitely would like the options given that was what we were able to do before, in H5g the pre-game lobbies were really simplistic. Though you could check your commendation progress it was hardly interesting between the waiting times all the time.

And other players, if you are playing in team based gamemodes, had nothing but emblem to present them. Before you could at least see the armor combinations and such for perhaps what to expect from higher ranks or some parts that fit together you didnt think of, also what type of players are with or against you given the amount they have played campaign or multiplayer or such and what would be their general style and preferred weapons.

So viewable player service records should make a return.

Then the veto system, I really preferred the voting system with multiple choices but at least veto would be better than what has been there right now as in nothing.

For the most part, do as Reach did, then improve on this with custom stances, competitive ranks and the veto system.

bring back voting for maps back and gametypes or atleast veto

Veto I’m all for, but voting turns into You play these 3 maps that the community deemed the best, and only those 3 never anything else, EVER.

  • Public chat - Player armor and stuff to look at. Earnable poses with certain weapons or vehicles etc. - Maybe tips or notes of the map - Player rank and emblems - Players’ highest Flood firefight wave - Players’ preferred playstyle: vehicle, pilot, lone wolf, sniper, team player, gunner, objective, etc.

true true i didnt think of that and that would be horrible!

I would love this! I would hope for something along the lines of in the post match lobby you could go into someones profile and there would be a button to essentially party up. There’s not many games (that I can think of off the top of my head) that allow you to do this easily.

EDIT: I kinda remember Reach had something similar, maybe?

Preach Reach! But seriously, this is what Reach did so well. You could do it all and see it all in Reach’s pre-game lobbies.

The fact that I can only see emblems (not armor, gts, parties, service record, mute) in the pre-game in Halo 5 is absolutely absurd.

Open hosted custom game lobbies for Forged maps!
Like H5 did where you can search for custom game lobbies to join.

I really hope 343 looks at how bungie handled the UI in Reach. I despised H4s lobbies and H5s aren’t much better.

If they just did exactly Reach’s UI again it would be fine.

Showing playlist ranks on player card is a must

But that could be somehow fixed with map specific matchmaking search which was in few topics here on waypoint before.
With that you could have voting system with its direct community feedback about what are best maps while also having a chance to match players who want different maps for reasons such as variety in maps or aiming to do map specific achievement without forcing most of the people to play on the maps pretty much no one likes.

So with that voting system would be better for both majority and minority by giving freedom of choice for majority and giving a chance for minority to match up with other like minded people.

you mean add the stuff that were removed from previous games?

Yes why the hell were they removed in the first place and on top of that add in a statistic of the person aka

" Most used weapon _"
" Players Vehicle of choice
"

That’s not a bad idea, the only thing I don’t like about that is it could split up the player base into smaller pools. Kind of like Map Packs did in the early days. I was glad when 343i decided to make all the H5 maps available to everyone.

Pretty much they just need to combine Halo Reach and H2A and they’re set. Obviously add it a few other things, but ya they’d be good to go.

Halo 4’s pre/post game wasn’t great at all…pretty bad really, but Halo 5 pre game is absolutely horrendous!!! It’s not even funny how bad it is ( Not being able to mute individual players is super laughable!!! ok maybe its a little funny then lol ) There post game report isn’t bad though at all.

Party up definitely needs to be in, some kind of map layout would be neat too, being able to at least look at how players look (what armor they’re wearing, stances, etc) i understand not being able to see stats and rank until after the match, veto system or what we have now I’m find with. Just not voting… that needs to go into a black hole and never return!

Yep vetoing would bring back the voting system on maps but they could use many more of them.:+1::v::ok_hand:

The maps would still be available to everyone, not sure if that was ever in question but just to make sure i put it there.

It surely could cause some splitting and in some maps depending on time, matching with same people as basically with every game eventually but still. I mean the latter happens to every game.
But it would still give the ability to play on more unpopular maps without forcing majority of the people tonplay on maps they dont like and allow for direct community feedback.

So in my mind, pros outweight the cons.

The active roster stuff and UI in reach was the best and very user friendly, if we could get this back or something similar that would be fantastic.
