Right from the get go, i admit i’m a Halo fanboy and have enjoyed all of the Halo games to date. But today the sheer frustration I have with Halo 5 was too much. Stuff that happens before a bullet is even shot.
I had a day off from work, and one of my kids wanted to play some Halo 5 with me. Fair enough, good fun with the kid, lets go shoot some stuff.
Turn on my XB1 and login, turn on the other XB1 and login (had to buy an extra XB1 due to lack of split screen but that’s a story for a different day). Both go into Halo 5 and spend friggin ages trying to join into a fireteam. WTF! Sheer frustration, we either can’t join in to each others fireteam, or we drop out, or when we do get a game its so laggy its unplayable, then I get booted. WTF! (and before anyone asks, we tested our connection when playing Destiny, no issues, we tested with Diablo III, no Issues).
Even when we do get a game in I try and find a 4 v 4 objective gametype since the kids usually don’t like out and out Slayer. But when you go to find an Objective game on the playlist it usually ends up being either Slayer or Breakout anyways. WTF! If I wanted to play Slayer I’d go to the Slayer playlist. If I wanted to play Breakout I’d go to the Breakout playlist. But here they are, in the so called objective playlist with CTF and Strongholds rarely seen. Don’t even get me started on BTB and being timed out cause no one is playing it. BTB used to be awesome to play, now its a ghost town. WTF!!!
Halo servers are absolute rubbish. Even when I’m the only person online in our household I regularly find it hard to join in with XBL mates and we always seem to have trouble getting into fireteams and party chat while Halo 5 is being played. NO other game that I own and play on the XB1 has these CONSTANT issues. For a game that is online only its not good enough for a paying customer to have a product that does not do what its supposed to.
