If there is one thing I really like about Halo 5, it’s that you can pretty much only win by skill. And I will illustrate that theory with four points:
- The new REQ system - You can pick up dropped weapons and drive vehicles - Weapons and vehicles in Arena - Armor doesn’t mean crapHere we go…
The new REQ system makes Halo really well balanced. The more you play, the more REQ points you get. So you develop skill by practice. The more REQ points you get, the more REQ packs you buy, and the more REQ packs you buy, the more REQs you get. So this eventually develops into skill based earning because the harder you work to earn the REQs the better you get at using them (skill). And everybody else can get the REQs too, so it’s not like your super powerful.
You can also pick up weapons and drive vacant vehicles. If someone gets a cool weapon you can kill him and pick it up, so that your not stuck with one weapon like other games I know. (Cough, Star Wars Battlefront, Cough). So you have a chance to use more powerful weapons even if you don’t have them unlocked.
Thirdly, in Arena, there’s more than one power weapon on the field, making it so that there is not just one super powerful player but many players with deadly weapons. So it really boils down to skill.
You can’t get more powerful armor, either. The only thing you can get are armor mods but even those are crazy expensive. So you can’t blame crushing defeat or glorious triumph on armor (unless your superstitious and you have lucky armor).
It really just boils down to skill. Sure, there are people who buy REQ packs with real money. But are REQs worth it if you don’t have practice using them? You’d have to get good with them first for them to mean anything.
Agree? Disagree?

I can’t tell if this thread is sarcasm or genuine…
You can’t win Warzone with skill alone. There are way too many people and variables to really come out on top by skill alone, but that is the purpose of WZ. A casual and chaotic setting.
Arena is pretty skill and team based. Can’t really deny that.
I was pretty serious. Troll attempt? No.
And my point was basically: It is way more balanced than other games I’ve played and requires skill. Not just good weapons.
I don’t think skill is as paramount to the system as you do, but I won’t say it’s not a factor. Winning a match nets you more points, and winning at least one match in a day nets you a little REQ pack that usually has XP/RP boosters in it.
The system is primarily about making you play as much as possible – and pay as much as possible, for additional REQ packs. That armor is purely cosmetic, anything you spawn in Warzone can drop into the hands of the one that slays you, and that Arena is absolutely untouched by the REQ system, are all great choices to prevent their money mill from infringing on the Halo experience. I don’t think that the money mill improves the experience, however. I would far prefer REQs to unlock by completing interesting tasks.
You post kinda does make sense but it also doesn’t… you can’t get armor mods for arena. They are only for warzone. Also you can get more powerful armor because there is over shields on some arena maps if you can get them.
But yes Halo is over all a more skill based game than most of the shooters out there.
I meant armor mods just for Warzone, sorry I didn’t clarify.

It’s less balanced than older halo games, there was no armour upgrades and no req packs. Halo 5 is pretty unbalanced in comparison, everyone was put onto a level playing field unlike the req system which basically means if you play the games for longer you get better/more weapons and vehicles. Someone could be pro level but only play one game a week and get beat by a noob who grinds every day. That doesn’t sound like balance, the better you are the better you do. Not the more you play.

Um, no. I’ll pretend you’re not trolling. You could play numerous games running around the map not getting a single kill and you’ll still get REQ points and a free daily win REQ pack for your first win so you don’t need to work hard at all. REQ’s are RNG so not everyone is going to have the same REQ’s in your game which means someone could be super powerful if other people don’t have decent REQ counters.
The only thing that is true is the practice part. Yes, if you keep using a weapon, you should get better at using it.
You don’t have to pretend. I’m not trolling. Why does everybody on the forums think that?
So I don’t’ get the comparison to someone playing 1 game halo a week and being “pro” to someone that plays several games a day?? please elaborate if you can

Yeah, I didn’t get that either. You can’t be on pro level if you’re not good.
I think it’s pretty obvious that you win by skill in Halo. There’s no argument here, or like any reason to talk about it. That’s the way it’s been in every Halo, it’s not unique to Halo 5. I mean, this post seems very irrelevant. It’d be like me going up to Neil deGrasse Tyson and telling him that space has stars.

What? Balanced? Halo 5? HAHAHAHA! Man, whatever you’re smoking, pass it this way. Been a while since I had some good s4it that can make someone THAT delusional.
Halo 5 is FAR from balanced. If anything, it’s horrible imbalanced. It teams players against other players who are VASTLY higher in skill. It teams groups of randoms against premade teams. And as for Warzone… well, the team with the best REQ’s wins. That is, the team who had access to mommy and daddy’s credit cards and threw down $400 dollars on the 99.99 gold REQ bundle wins.
Skill has nothing to do with Halo 5. It’s all bad programming, half @$$'d matchmaking and how much money you threw at it that determines if you’ll win or not.
They call it skill.
I call it cheap if you grab a rocket launcher to be honest lol

Being rude to someone with a different opinion is a great way to destroy your argument.
I think your greatly exaggerating. I’ll get lopsided teams in any multiplayer game, ever, it happens. Also I don’t think REQs are as game changing as you think. I usually top the scoreboard with mainly my BR, and some good tactics.
So if there is no skill, whatsoever, then why do I smoke certain people and get smoked by others? Maybe its not the most skilled game but its just downright ignorant to say that skill doesn’t exist. Also you keep saying REQs make Halo 5 unbalanced and terrible and whatever but thats only in one gamemode.

Skill doesn’t win games. Grenade spam does.
