Ppl need to understand that halo 5s weapon balance hasn’t changed halo, it’s only changed the flavour and made the meal more enjoyable.
How ANYONE can say they want halo reaches AR back baffles me!
I’ll briefly try to bring ppl up to date in the new flavour of halo multiplayer.
- AR power is not over powered - The gun is now effective and that doesn’t make the gun over powered.
When ppl say that the AR is too good from close range because it stands too much of a chance against a BR user at close range I think to my self, “Ummmm that’s the way it should be, Learn to control the map better and stop rushing in like Rambo with your BR then”

Halo purists winge about halo5 not having map control and that the AR is too strong “Ummm just because it’s not the type of map control ur used to doesn’t mean it doesn’t have map control” & "The AR being a threat now FORCES BR Players to have map control and not rush in, BR players that use map control will out gun AR players every time.

BR vs AR - BR Time to kills still is faster than AR. Ppl who say that the AR is better than the BR need to get better with the BR.

AR skill vs BR skill - Yes the AR is easier to get good with than the BR is HOWEVER the AR will NEVER cause the sort of damage that a skilled BR user will have on the game. A skilled AR user vs an equally skilled BR user will never win more duels than a skilled BR user from ANY RANGE in h5, weather it be close range mid range AND long range. The ONLY thing the AR really changed about halos flavour is that as a BR user you can’t just run in to a close range fight not knowing exactly where the AR user is hiding and expect to win every duel. You have to really pick your timing, and stratagy and if ur playing with a team use effective communication and at that point u can go in with a BR and u will still out gun the AR user if you have a good strafe and good accuracy from close range and that’s the way it should be.
A BR shouldn’t be an automatic win over an AR at close range. You should have to earn your kills at close range with a BR.
Yes a low skill AR user is going to do pretty ok vs a low to medium skill BR user at close range but I don’t think that means the flavour isn’t right.
Look at it this way, halos old flavour has always been, a low skilled BR user will destroy a medium skill AR User EVEN AT CLOSE RANGE.
That’s a bad flavour and it’s not balanced.
reduce head shot bonuses for ARs at mid to long range tho and increase the clip size instead and it’s perfect!
ye kill times from beta were too fast, people died before they could react.
the ar from the beta thanks to SS could cross map and thats just not right. the AR at most should be useful at close -mid range just like the br but unable to fight at long range.
the skill battle between an ar and a br shouldnt be completely about useing one weapons strenghts and exploiting the others weaknesses the stk is whow they are blalanced. that is fine for dmr carbine br battles but the br should have a quicker ttk as it does take more effort to use. 5shots from the br should equal the same ammount of time it takes to fire 13 from the ar that balance is fine.
the main thing people have a problem with and feel the guns are op is because of the ttk not the stk or anything of the sort.

I agree about AR having too good of a kill power from accross the map. But that only happens because the AR has head shot bonuses from a distance when it should only have them up close. That’s why AR Ttk seemed OP. Head shot bonuses.

BR kills way faster than AR. Trust me. I’m pretty handy with the BR and one night I came up against some Japanese players who were better than me, so I tried using the AR and it only made it easier for them. And I was very effective with the AR during the beta. I was better than most. I rarely saw an AR user that out gunned me in standard 4v4 (breakout was different I was out gunned just as much as I wasn’t die to no shields but that’s a totally different kettle of fish)
In standard 4v4 The Ttk for the AR is not as good as the BR from any range.
I got a few kills on the Japanese players with the BR in hard strafe battles but was getting out gunned more often then not so I switched to AR and it made matters worse!
I just think head shot bonuses from long and medium range should be completely eliminated but retained for close range duels to ensure BR users can’t just rush in with out consequence
i agree there’s LESS of a skill gap now with the AR being so strong but I don’t know I just like it better because I feel it’s more satisfying to beat an AR user than ever before. How it fairs in the long run with these michanics remains to be seen.
I think skill ranks should be based on weather u use precision weapons more often than not, maybe that could be an idea used for 343. Look it’s not perfect but I think the games more enjoyable the way it is, in the end of the day we aren’t pro players competing in tournaments we are casuals who are seeking a fun Competetive experience NOT JUST a Competetive experience . .
