Ppl asked for years and still dont have..

Theres honestly no excuse why Halo 4 doesnt have it, and its pretty annoying. It would take them like 5minutes and would impact halo in no negative way possible. I litterally just bought a 15 dollar game on the arcade and it has it, with so many options you cant actually use them all. What am i talking about?

The damn button layouts. WHY cant we just customise it?

I find it so funny that Halo 4 is all about “customization” when the one thing alot of people care about wasnt put in, and for no reason other than 343s laziness.

Honestly, search “why no button mapping” on google, and halo4 will be like 4/10 of the TOP results.

This is by no far the worst thing in halo 4, but since its a 5minute fix its the only thing i hate 343 for.

Thoughts?

God this forum is so boring, there hasn’t been an original thread worth debating about for weeks.

Quit posting nothing constructive. I have a wish for halo 4, this is a halo 4 forum, ill do as i please.

And by how many youve apparently seen, alot of people are asking for it. All the more reason.

Not only have people not really been complaining about button layouts in previous Halos, full button customization would require loads of testing and almost certainly be discovered to have an exploit.

[Part of the reason for this, as it relates to Halo in particular, is a test/animation/glitch nightmare. Imagine literally infinite potential for BXR situations across every possible in-game action.

That’s a worst-case scenario, but it’s not an exaggeration of the potential problem space.](http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=39659644&postcount=4479)

That’s Frank O’ Connor on NeoGAF before you think it isn’t a legitimate source

Get over it! Halo just doesn’t roll like that!

I can use big font too!

But seriously, button mapping, make it happen.

If it bothers you so much then quit bumping such thread. Oh, and turn off the caps lock, that’s not necessary.

On topic here, yes I do support button customization, although we’ll get accustom to the button mapping done by 343, nevertheless.

Then dont post on my so called “unworthy” topics and find something to do worth your time.

Im no programmer, but i dont see how which button does the animation could effect the outcome.

A gun shoots the same way whether i shoot with A or RT, and i crouch the same whether its with B or LTS

I came to see if it was “worthy” and it wasn’t therefore i expressed my negative opinions, i no longer post my own topics on this forum, because i spend 20-30 minutes writing theories in Halo universe and get 1 reply, then make a valid logical argument on Halo 4’s multiplayer and basically get told to -Yoink- off.

It could contains some glitches, that would be created by people

Like you said, you are no programmer, I don’t understand how it would cause Button glitches or bugs with animations, but without proper full testing, anything could happen.

Image if we would have custom button mapping, then imagine all the possible layouts you could have, they’d have to test every single one of them.

Thanks for the bump then.

Some people honestly don’t get coding

I guess, this is why i think if i play videogames alot still in the next 5 years, itll be on the PC. CSGO, the 15 dollar arcade game, gets updates every day on the computer, not every 6 months like the crappy xbox titles.

I dont get why they cant update when they find the glitches in the first place.

This is NOT the issue, that is very simple and could be done in a few days, the real reason is the glitches, if you are a glitcher (like me) you know that button layouts can open up exploitable places in the sandbox, elevator glitches in CoD for example, with a certain stick layout you can use your precise movements to glitch into a position which with a normal layout would not be possible, this would mean 343 would have to release weekly patches and updates just to stop the common glitcher from exploiting the game.

The poll results don’t lie. The people have spoken.
