Power Weapons?

I’m curious what most people think about power weapons. If you look at the halo 2, 3, and reach each map had way more power weapons. Halo 4 had more due to the nature of req drops. Halo 5 has significantly less per a map and now 343 is replacing shotguns with silenced ARs and SMGS with silenced magnums? I don’t get it. Halo is and always has been about power weapons, but I feel like 343 is trying to reduce it to focusing on precision gun play. That is fine for HCS, but for casual players (The OVERWHELMING majority of halo players) we want our power weapons. We don’t want everything to be PRO style. Look at the success of Destiny and Overwatch. It’s not based on being ‘balanced’ or competitive gaming I’ll tell you that. I feel like 343 should have HCS playlists with the stupid radar and no power weapons, but leave the others alone. I love Halo 5, but I get more and more depressed it seems like with every update. Perhaps I miss the days of Halo 3 when a 4v4 map would have 2 snipers, 2 shotguns, rocket launcher, sword, needlers, maulers, invisibility, and an OS. Perhaps I miss the days when a 4v4 map would have ghosts and warthogs. snowbound with a ghost, laser, sniper, shotgun, hammer, invisibility, and OS. I’m beating a dead horse. Do you fine people agree or disagree with me?

Size of the maps is the problem (probably the reason why Team Snipers/Shotty Snipers had low population, in my opinion). Compared to the previous Halos, the maps (at least to me) feel like they’ve been shrunken considerably. There’s no room on the maps for double everything, save for a couple of maps in BTB. So with the sizes of the maps being what they are, they’re trying to limit the amount of power weapons on them to try and keep teams from utterly dominating the game with them. The days of vehicles on 4v4 maps are probably long gone with Halo 5’s shift to catering to more competitive gameplay.

That is another gripe I have with Halo 5. All the maps are too small, but I guess I never thought about that in relation to power weapons. I want more power weapons and I have always liked bigger maps. If that is the case, I’m on board.
