Seriously power weapons makes no sense in infection mode.
It doesn’t make sense to give power weapons to survivors in this mode, the point of Infection was to have ‘shot-guns’ against ‘swords’, it’s current state it just seems people are to just camping in spot’s with OP weapons and spamming grenades then destroying infection like there nothing, it’s like there not even feared in it’s current state.
I remember back in the day teams would freak out and even try to camp out with shotguns and try box themselves off…instead most games seems to have people camping with BR’s or w/e OP weapon they can find and instantly killing infection as soon as they see them like there nothing, in some cases it can seem impossible to get near survivors…not always the case, the only good thing about infection at the moment is ‘limited’ ammo. It’s bad enough that some of the maps in matchmaking aren’t that great for infection but putting up with power weapons is ridiculous.
The point of Infection in the proper Halo games is to avoid being infected but in most cases it’s quite the opposite in H5, I feel like Infection needs a serious change in the balancing of the mode in H5. Sure we can rush out with shot-guns but one miss and it’s game over for that survivor but when people are camping certain spots with nothing but long range weapons so it makes it seem like a joke to be able to get anywhere near them. I feel as if most people online could have done a better job at balancing this game-type, that whoever did the online balancing just copied and pasted a slayer mode, didn’t bother to finish working on changing it.

They could have managed this better if they kept weapons on the map, but restricted them to pistols and maybe rifles (brs and dmrs). I agree with them that pistol starts would be too op with how powerful the halo 5 pistol is, but they could have kept pistols in the game by asking them map drops. My problem I when rocket launchers and snipers and such allow survivors to shred infected until they run out of ammo. Especially because many power weapons, like snipers, have mutliple clips while all other weapons, including starts have only one clip to start. I like that you have to scavenge do ammo in this mode, so having 12 sniper rounds is bull crap
I think without power weapons, the added mobility of the zombies would be too powerful. Some of the power weapons could maybe use a reduction in ammo provided at pick-up. I think you like many others in this forum, want Halo 5 to be Halo 3, which it isn’t.
I also am really confused by this:

These are contradicting statements. Your second point states that people want to be infected in H5 but your first statement states that it is ‘impossible to get near survivors’. Not sure what you want them to do (buff infected or buff survivors so they don’t want to be infected).
Personally I have a lot of fun in infection mode right now. I love trying to survive to the end but also love flying over peoples heads and infecting them.
I think it’s kinda dumb as well. If the survivors have power weapons the infected should be able to have or use pistols… guns won’t infect survivors but just kill them so they can’t camp with power weapons. Make things a bit more interesting.
God imagine Reach’s infection with power weapons (shivers) I would have never touched it. I remember when everyone just camped in the small hallway with the vent in it on sword base. Back when the infected bum rushing the survivors actually worked more. But if the survivors had any sort of power weapon it would probably play how halo 5 infection is played now.
I like how people think the infected have no chance yet when compared to let’s say halo reach you were shot in the dome many times with people camping with the magnum. Infection has always had camping, nothing new here, it’s always had it where the infected die easily as well, so again, nothing new here, and it’s always had it where groups would sit in a corner of a map, nothing new here.
Ive never liked any version of infection and h5 isn’t any different, but I like to think the power weapons and AR start increases the movement to a degree. You have to move around to get said power weapon and then you have to find your camping spot. Halo 1-R you just moved to your camping spot and that was it.
Ill also add, infections purpose is to overrun the survivors, one infected isn’t supposed to dominate the game, so many people rush by themselves and only hurt the infected team doing so, rushing in numbers makes more sense people

The current infection…I wouldn’t be surprised if they did to decide to give Infected pistols since it’s a bit of a mess at the moment.

Yes that would be bad, the current H5 infection feels more like Fiesta because most people are running around with power weapons in Halo 5’s attempt at Infection.
