Do you guys like the idea of power weapons in Halo 5: Guardians or are they going to ruin the multiplayer for the game, let us know what you think about them.
How would power weapons ruin the multiplayer? Halo has always had them.

No I mean the special weapons they have such as Prophets Bane etc etc.
I don’t see the point, really.
Yeah, meanwhile Star Wars Battlefront trailer got like 9 million views in less than a day. Do people want to blow the -Yoink- out of eachother in huge Star Wars maps in the hugest sci-fi franchise ever, or do they want to play Halo 5: Halo 2 gameplay edition, with NO damn changes at all. The industry IS evolving. I’m a die-hard Halo fan, but at this point Star Wars is going to have the better multiplayer. NOT because I can run faster in Halo 5. Not because I can aim more accurately with an assault rifle from 500 years in the future. It’s because Star Wars Battlefront is *Fresh, *New, and *Exciting. Running 5mph and jumping with the floatiest physics of all time in Guardian, just isn’t as fun as it used to be. I’m glad for the few changes that 343i DID make. I DON’T WANT THE SAME GAME JUST WITH BETTER GRAPHICS.

I see your point and I respect your opinion but don’t you think that from the beta, what we are experiencing isn’t classic Halo? But I do understand that they can’t keep doing the same thing for everygame with multiplayer.

I guess the Prophets’ Bane is okay. It’s a lot different than the classic Energy Sword but it works because it has equal pros and cons. Plus is looks pretty cool and ARBY USES IT!

Woah-ho-hold on there cowboy, there hasn’t even been gameplay shown on that game yet.

yeah I think Prophets Bane is pretty balanced and the fact that the Arbiter used it makes it even cooler.
For me personally, one of the core pillars of Halo game play online has been map and power weapon control.
It motivates players to hold different points on the map, and as a team acquires one, their strategy will change and
for the other to to be succesfful they must change how and when the make a push on the other team or continue
holding ground.

Here’s the problem. A lot of Halo fans didn’t necessarily leave, just because of game play mechanics changes, I personally know huge Halo fanboys from the Halo 3 era, who practically never went back when Modern Warfare came out. Many of the original fanboys don’t really have that much time to lay games at this point in their life, and all of the kids are addicted to the flashy new stuff. How is Halo supposed to REALLY reclaim the throne without getting new players? I’m sorry, but with Industry moving giants such as Battlefront, kids aren’t going to be lining up for a re skinned Halo 3. Say what you want about kids playing Halo, but those little -Yoinks!- fuel the industry. They eventually get older, then new kids enter. 343i can’t just keep ONLYsupporting the first wave or two of Halo fans who are only getting older.
We’ve only seen one legendary weapon, and it’s pretty cool. The Hydra sucked, but they’re buffing it in the full game.

yeah times have moved on, just as the community is evolving, the game has to evolve with it even if some of the old hardcore Halo fans don’t particularly like it. I would say the multiplayer that we played in the beta wasn’t the best but it’s still good enough for me to buy it and I also want to play the campaign and get to grips with the story so even if I didn’t like the multiplayer I would still buy the game.

You’re right. The ‘kids’ want an uninspired, generic, look alike version of their favorite FPS games. That will draw in all those players. Milk that cow, Microsoft!

It was good you just only had to use it differently. You locked on and then fired in the air so it would rain down.

So you’re settling for mediocrity just cause…?
And -sorry to break down your little speech- but the gaming industry isn’t ‘innovating’. In any case, its probbably in the hardest stalemate it has ever been as every FPS is doing the exact same. The funny part is that Halo would be doing something relatively new by being the Arena shooter it originally was not just because the last 2 games in FOUR years have failed to do so, but also because it would be a breath of fresh in this modern military shooter dominated market
as long as the hydra gets buffed I have no concerns
They’re fine, i thought the hydra was trash till i saw a video on how to use it.

This guy has posted this in multiple threads already. He’s just copy/pasting it.
