Power weapon spawn time are awful

They should not be spawning every thirty seconds its ridiculous. I’ve played games on regret where there are three fuel rod cannons at once. Rocket spawn far to often on maps like eden and coliseum as well. No other halo game had power weapons spawn constantly like this and ruins the flow of the game. I constantly have to worry about being killed by rockets or fuel rod and that becomes most fights unfortunately instead of fights that take skill with weapons like pistol/dmr/br. We just need to admit that this is a crutch for bad players so they can at times beat good people and their precision weapons by hoarding the constant spawning rockets.

I’m pretty sure that the power weapons only start their spawn timer once the same power weapon despawns. Therefor its not really possible for multiple fuel rods to spawn like that unless there are that amount on the map.

Nope, it happens. Had it happen many times with sniper on maps, and especially the fuel rod cannon on Regret. Just played one on Regret earlier where I was running around with plenty of shots left in a fuel rod cannon, and another spawned. Same thing on Fathom with the rail gun.

Am I right in thinking a power weapon respawn counter didn’t start until said power weapon had been dropped and ‘despawned’ (I guess) in the past?

Yes weapons seem to pop up too often and you may not know how many are on the field. Especially those that don’t come up on the ‘power weapon’ pads. SMGs may not be ‘power weapons’ but they are certainly there anytime you want… not sure about things like the hydra but I’m guessing they are fairly available.

The despawn time was an issue in H4. I had a general (H3) friend and this tipped him over the edge, not seen him back yet. If you drop a weapon, you better be very fast with getting back there to reclaim it. Very fast. Shame…

The plasma caster spawns every 10 seconds. Which is ridiculous because it’s a beast in the right hands.

I like it, actually. It hearkens back to the height of the arena shooter, when the longest you had to wait was two minutes for the mega health.

They talked about the good old Halo when you could control a map based on power positions and power weapon spawns. Yet here we are discussing power weapons spawning to quickly or overlapping their previous spawn. Minor details perhaps but people thrived on this insider map knowledge, yet it worked, that cheeky noob could still grab rockets and pop you off the side of the map lol. Where are we now? Is it still map control like 343 wanted?

No, we need faster weapon spawns. Regret plays extremely slow. We should be trying to promote movement, not camping.

But then you get situations like “that guy” on ascension who grabs the rockets and jumps into the banshee leaving the other team with no real recourse.

Your not wrong but maybe it just didn’t work with the new spartan abilities. Who knows, we weren’t there for testing. Once again, hopefully we can see it for our self once forge releases and we can tweak these things the way we like.

Power weapons respawns way too quickly! They should of fixed this by now. Hate when other teams can stack on rockets and snipers.

This isn’t a problem. If they are just going to never use the Rockets then it’s useless, so the likelyhood of multiple Rockets is rare and helps the team not sitting on Rockets LOL
You have a decent starting weapon so atleast there isn’t a balance issue here if one team is able to keep collecting ammo.

Also, the timer increases after each respawn, so it’s only 30secs after first grab or 2. 343 and Pro team knew what they were doing when they set the weapon respawn parameters.

Yes cause hiding with the power weapon so noone can get it like in Halo 2 was so fun. Halo 2 had so many issues compared to Halo 5. Halo 3 was an improvement but there were other things in that game like Equipment drops, bullet spreads, and Melee lunge where Halo 5 gets the nod for doing it better.

There are no issues with the respawns; not anything worth complaining about anyway. =)

There are no issues here unless you suck, plain and simple. The AR/Magnum loadout is the best spawn loadout since Halo CE. Power weapons are on 2 and 3 (for sniper) minute static spawn cycles. If you can’t retake map control using team tactics, your spawn weapons and the various tier 1 and 2 weapons scattered throughout the map, you lost fair and square.

Nope, I can nab rockets, use 3 of them, and then circle back and get the new rockets that are about to spawn.

I’m okay with how things are at the moment with the spawns, and remember sometimes there are lesser power weapons on maps like Eden with the hydra. If the enemy is camping the rockets you could grab the hydra instead. This weapon is trickier to use but if you pop your head out, lock on and fire off 3 rounds on a surprised opponent its an easy kill or two.
