Something alot of players, especially competetive players, have asked for are timers. Timers for weapons spawns, vehicle spanws etc but the type of timer I’d like to see is a powerup timer. A timer, or bar, or both, that show how much is left of your invisibility, overshield, speedboost etc.
The benefits: You can decide if what’s left in your invisibility/speedboost/OS is worth using for a specific push, flank or counter-attack. And it also allows you to call out when the next power up is about to spawn if you know that the next invis spawns 15 seconds after it’s been used up fully.
Like a weapon timer but for powerups!
That’d lower the skill gap. Something that’s always been good about not having power up timers is the players that know how long they last, can be most effective using them-- thus, you have to learn how long they last.
No.Exactly what Idio7smg said.
Like watching my Reach or H4 ability meters get used up??? Some minimal visual timer for the powerup would be nice. Definitely a 3 to 5 second audible cue for some of them/the custom.
Obviously OS isn’t part of this but having a bit more info on Active wouldn’t hurt.
… Not sure how stating Pros using coaches as their timers and… Or players at home using timers themselves because they’re that hard core… Ya not really too sure on the logic path that leads those players as being skill-less or nonresourceful…

Um…the game clock is a visual cue…it always has been…
If you play enough to learn how long between power respawns, then the game clock will tell you everything you need to know…

… And yet the Pros use coaches and have indeed requested this type of option to stop using their own devices at home.
I am well aware of what I can do in Halo. I’m also aware of the contradicting attitudes of wanting to fortify an eSport for the masses through Halo as a platform but also wanting to remove the things that make a game a SPORT.
The more indicators available to allow for comparison thinking rather than memorisation allows more players to use their brain power for the battle at hand.
That IS why pro gamers use coaches. To concentrate on their battle skills in a tournament, pros use coaches to relay vital information, both individually and team related, even though they can capture that data in other means.
At home, pros (and aspiring) use all the bells and whistles they can afford to tell them what information they feel they don’t like to remember… Any “competitive edge” they can use, they will use because “anybody can waste brain power to keep tabs on the corner of the screen.”
I would like to see a timer very much so. I find it strange when people think having timers memorized makes them “more skilled.”
