Power/heavy weapon suggestions: The topic 343i will never read

Title is a joke mostly. but here are some power weapon suggestions these are all “t3” weapons in the sandbox designed for loot caves and or power position spawns. I have put way to much thought into these some are weapons from previous games others are new concepts with a twist.


Known weapons

this section is weapons that are from previous halo games.

Fuel rod gun (battery)

A battery powered fuel rod gun at full charge it holds 15 shots, and is able to rapid fire 5 shots before over heating. the reason for it being battery powered is quite frankly it makes it rather unique in the launcher sandbox.

Gameplay niche: its bouncing projectile and ability to proximity detonate on aircraft make it a useful flak tool as well as good for tight spaces, its projectile will bounce twice before detonating or detonate on impact with a vehicle, player, or explosive object.

Beam rifle (both designs same weapon they are skins)

Battery powered and able to fire a twin shot rapid burst the beam rifle is a rather interesting sniper rifle unlike the main UNSC sniper the beam rifle lacks the vehicle damage but has a unique pierce function where it can shoot through vehicle armor and thin map objects, meaning when used in combo with a threat sensor one can head shot a target through a wall.

Game play niche: crew killer on vehicles and camp punisher.

M7057 Flamethrower

Technically a heavy weapon this power weapon has a twin use being a short range rapid kill weapon it also has the ability to create area denial with the pools of flame it leaves. the down side is you must watch its heat and ammo. having 100 ammo and 200 spare and over heating after firing 50% rapidly. This is based on the H1 flamethrower gameplay.

Gameplay niche: Area denial power weapon, think of it like the ravager as a t3 constant damage weapon that always has small versions of its area pool.

Storm rifle

While the storm covenant where delt with with the death of their leader their weapons still make it into UNSC and banished hands from time to time. Teh storm rifle is a good example of this. As a power weapon it is a plasma LMG with a high rate of fire and damage output but comes at a cost of a long cool down time if brought to over heat as its cooling system requires a spin up.

Gameplay niche: rapid fire DPS similar to the m247h but not as a heavy weapon.

M90 CAWS

The classic shotgun firing 8gage stub shells, the CAWs has a 12 dual tube system. Like the bulldog it has a medium/close range function. For gameplay there are two versions the Standard dual tube that has 12 rounds, and a 6 round single tube version for comp.

gameplay niche: Can one tap at close range two tap at medium.


“NEW” weapon concepts

MA5B SSW (squad support weapon)

A varriant of the Ma5 line the MA5B SSW is a new version of an old classic still equiped with the B’s signature 60 round quad stack mags the SSW forgo’s the ammo counter and flashlight for a laser aim module and unslung grenade launcher. This variant was made by request for UNSC ground forces do to a need for a commando jack of all trades weapon. While its quad stack mag isn’t the most reliable field reports state that the weapon excels at area denial and mass threat situations.

Gameplay niche: instead of a smart scope hitting secondary swaps between LMG and GL modes, in GL mode it has a 3 round metal storm style grenade launcher that is front loaded. In LMG mode 60 round LMG. Gameplay wise this is an “every mans” power weapons while it lacks accuracy it can easily deal with mass threats via its high mag and grenades but comes at a cost of a low average range making it easy to counter.

Guess these ideas are duds.

I really want a fuel rod back, it has been one of my top 5 favorite weapons for years. In 4 especially it was downright euphoric to get ahold of one because of how insanely powerful it was.

Looks cool, sounds cool, and is powerful to boot. What’s not to love?

the fact its projectile bounces… which is more funny then anything else.
