Annoying Combos (Team)

  1. Hardlight Shield + Regeneration Field
  2. Hardlight Shield + Auto Sentry

I thought Mobility just increases the speed at which you run, not just sprinting infinitly, so does Mobility actually changes limited sprint to infinite sprint or faster basic movement?

Also, these combo’s can be countered, some of them may take longer for people to find a counter though.

Since the sword has a smaller melee range, i think those combo’s will be easiler to deal with.

Will have to wait and see.

Please add your own if you can see any I’ve missed.

Based on your playstyle what do you think you will pick for your loadout?

Promethean Vision with anything.

From the looks of the article I linked, it seems as though Mobilty allows for infinite sprint. There is also a Speed Boost powerup from ordnance drops which is supposed to increase movement speed and decrease reload and weapon switch times.

Any combo can be annoying if used correctly.

Last I checked from the E3 build, Resupply is a tactical perk. Yet you list Grenadier as a Tactical perk as well.

It shouldn’t be possible to have both, unless I didn’t hear they changed that.

Interesting… I got my info from the ‘little english halo blog’ and I’m not sure what their source is. Do you have a link to the list from the E3 build?

Edit: Actually from the screenshot provided it looks like you are correct. There are a few other things jumbled in their list as well.

> 8. Sniper Rifle + Promethean Vision

I don’t think Promethean vision’s sight range can be increased using scopes. And even if it did, I really don’t think you can shoot through walls, which also makes the combo useless.

The only reason why people get annoyed by these “combos” is because the opponent managed to utilize them effectively to their full potential. If you can’t handle that, then maybe you should go on to play something else.

I am not referring to you OP, just to the people who rage at someone for using an effective combo to which they have no reason to.

I put that on there because of the E3 build. In its current state Promethean Vision could take set-up snipes to a new level.

I’d rather have annoying combos then an annoying one-gun that makes everything else in the game redundant.

I find myself on both ends of the scale. In Reach I hate anything that includes jetpack or rockets, but I exploit the hell out of sprint combos.

Hmm…

I’m actually not sure if I agree with this or not…

You confuse me, Neo Kaiser, something no one else on this forum has done yet…

I don’t find spint combos annoying at all, but I feel yah on jetpack +rockets combo. It pisses me off.

Well, would you rather have a one-gun rule that limits the entire game, or a combo that will catch you off guard the first time they use it, might get you the second time, and after that will most likely fail since you’ve learned what it was and how to effectively counter it, even if that means using your own annoying combo?

I’m not sure. That’s my point.

I’m going to explain why I’m not sure by telling a story from a most-hated game: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

In Halo 3, you almost always had 2 options: Go BR or go home.

That was a good portion of Halo 3, BR or bust. I do agree it was a poor way for such a good game to be played.

Now we have COD:MW2 it was an extremely unbalanced game, with lots of annoying combos.

One of which, is called “One man army noobtube”

In MW2, there was a perk called OMA or “One Man Army” it allowed you to pick a class at ANY TIME during your life. Even the one you were using. What people would do is strap a grenade launcher to their gun and spam it, run out of grenades, and use OMA to pick their current class so they could get a GL resupply.

It was horridly overpowered. I still have nightmares. Worst Part: There was no real way to counter this.

Then there was a Primary weapon know as “The Riot Shield”

It was just an unbreakable shield. People would use this to get in close and pull out a Shotgun (Which were secondary weapons, by the way) and blast people away.

Even worse, they could just beat you to death with the Shield. Two hits and you’d die.

Now, on the other side of things you had two guns that almost everyone used: The ACR Rifle and the RPD Machine Gun.

These two guns beat nearly every other gun in almost all ranges and angles.

Despite this, I would have less of a bad time in games with all ACR/RPD users than games with a bunch of OMA/GL and RS/Shotgun users.

Now, the most unbalanced Halo game is way more balanced than the most balanced COD game, but that does not mean there won’t be unstoppable combos.

I know this: I had lots of fun with Halo 3, even when I was forced to use the BR to keep up. (Which was most of the time)

I had lots of fun with Reach, even when I was forced to use the DMR to keep up. (Again, that was most of the time)

I’m just not sure at this point…

TL;DR: Most annoying combos in games are annoying because they can’t really be stopped.

Sprinting + Active Camo + anything.

Even if you’re still visible the radar jammer thing would catch a lot of people off gaurd.
