Potential Pre/Post Game Lobby Changes

Hey everyone, this is just a thought that I had and was wondering if anyone felt the same that I did.

I’ve noticed very many things missing from pre and post game lobbies in Halo 5: Guardians and I’d like to address them in this post. Feel free to list any further issues if it isn’t listed here.

1.) In pregame lobbies, you can’t view your teammates/opponents Spartans, let alone their gamertag. Whats the point of showing off those legendaries if you can only view them for that split second before a match in Arena?

2.) Medals. I don’t understand why I can’t see what medals I earned during the match, sure they alert you for most of them, but its nice to see what I got all together compared to other players. As well as other players to view my medals and vice versa.

3.) The interesting statistics like tool of destruction and “killed most/killed most by”. It just made for a more personal experience, like when I had a burning hatred for that guy that kept landing headshots on me and having pity on the noob I would wreck.

This may seem minor to most, but these features added to the experience of Halo. Seeing everyone’s unique armor config was always really cool to me, and the fact that all these things are missing is rather disappointing. Now, if I missed a 343 vlog explaining why these features excluded I would really like to see it.Thanks guys and gals!

I 100% agree with you on all accounts, I wish all of these features would be added

A more robust pre-game lobby and after action report would be nice.

Doubtful they will change the system now. Seems like a step backwards with the direction they took.

Also what is the point of stances now? its not like in H4 so why even include it?
More Reqs too flesh out the total number, would be my guess

Basically they need to take inspiration from the Reach UI. I would prefer they would just copy it 100% and change the skins. That way it reduces the chances that 343 would mess something up.

Yea… what do the stances really get you? There cool and all, but why do that when there are other things that need attention?

The ability to tell who has that four year-old screaming at them and mute them prior to the start of the match would be welcome in addition to the OP’s recommendations. We also used to be able to see how many kills were with a weapon, melee, and grenade, it would be nice to have that back too.

man being able to tell who has a crappy mic, mom screaming in background or like the other fella 4 year old would be awesome, and mute just that mic instead of mute all

There’s nothing “missing” from the pre-game lobby in Halo 5 because there IS NO pregame lobby in Halo 5. What you’re looking at is a loading screen.

And I, too, am astonished that there’s no post-game lobby, where you can party up with people, etc… although there isn’t one for Master Chief Collection either, so many it’s simply beyond the ability of 343i’s XBox One coders.

I agree, you can’t even see someone’s stance even in the pitiful stat block in the post game. The only thing you would see that is worth your time is their AR skin and maybe a legendary helmet. They did a really good job of making players feel important to themselves but not to anyone else… There’s almost no point to any of it.

Lol I like the way you worded it better. I’m sure they could do something to make it a little bit more interactive, kinda like with the Skyrim UI mod for PC that made it more PC friendly, all it would take is some simple coding (in comparison to other coding tasks) and design changes and boom, pregame lobby.

I did not see it on this thread but have seen it referenced on others pre game lobby needs a vote or veto system. I also do not like how you get locked into a match even while its still loading. It basically gives you a very small window of time to decide to stay in lobby or back out.

I agree with EVERYTHING on this thread, please add these to the game 343i, I beg

I would prefer halo 3s old lobby system before there exp rank update so players could see your number rank and your highest skill and spartin in the pre game and post game lobby. But 343 won’t do this because it makes the casual player feel intemadated and that’s the crowd there aming to please.

I hate that we can’t mute anyone until the game starts. Why would I want to spend the beginning of the match to look for and mute someone that’s yelling into their mic? I’d much rather sort that all out before the round begins. And no, I’d rather not mute everyone.

And what’s the point in changing your stance? I guess for your own personal benefit, but can other players even see it?

A party up system after each match would have done wonders in helping people find others to play with.

It would have been nice to have more post game stats and view medals.

A Veto system would be nice seeing that the “random” map rotation isn’t so random after all.

Who ideal was it to only show players Hao icons and not be able to see their name?

Something like this Fan made lobby YouTube video would have been waaaayyy better, even if it is basically Halo 3’s.

I’ve definitely noticed that, I hate not knowing who I’m up against. I like knowing who’s on my team so I can figure out how I’m going to have to play, if I have a bunch of noobs on my team, I’ll be sure to stick close, etc.

Now I don’t even get the privilege to see what armor they’re wearing… Its such a casual friendly lobby experience, absolutely no info on anyone in your lobby is so frustrating.

I am glad a post was made about this! would really like the medal count and killed most numbers.

Would like to see everything from the OP. I also liked how in the Reach lobby you could see which people were partied up.

I’m really glad this thread has had such a good response! Please keep the ball rolling and maybe 343 will pick up on what the community wants for Halo 5! ^^

For the love of god, please add a mute feature in pregame lobbies!
