Potential Future Updates and Suggestions Thread

So I’ve read through tons of messages and comments on all kinds of boards related to Halo and its Sandbox, and I’ve been working on an idea that stemmed from the absence of a few elements as Halo evolved over time. As a note, these are simply fan-made suggestions developed into a streamlined concept detailing the potential additions we could see in either a future update for Halo 5 or even a future Halo game. So yeah, here we go.

Halo 5 Guardians
Potential Future Updates

Brute Update- “Revenge of the Packmaster”/“Monkey Business”/“Don’t Shake the Lightbulb”(Working Title)
-A content-heavy update that brings new weapons, vehicles, armor configurations and Warzone and Arena maps to the table, the Brutes return to ravage the battlefield! Face off against the Pack, with returning weapons like the Brute Mauler, Spiker and Brute Shot and take on their undefeated Chieftains with the brand new Brute Predator Carbine and Ravager Shotgun! Clash head on against savage Brute Choppers and Prowlers, take on the new Reaver Walker straight from Halo Wars 2 and face incredible odds against the Brute Blisterback Tank as well as Mr. Mohawk himself! Tartarus’ Revenge begins with the Fall of Alpha Base and Return to the Ark, two brand new Warzone, Assault and Firefight maps that pits players against the Brute Pack, and extends deep into Arena with a revamped take on Hang 'em High and Colossus!
-New Enemy Faction:
-Brutes: Like in Halo 3, Brutes wear powered armor that conforms to their Halo 2 Anniversary bodies, but is indicative of rank by the color they sport upon their armor. Captains wear heavier armor compared to lower-ranked pack members, as well as sport a small, flashy red flag on their shoulders. This shielded armor can fail, causing the brutes to berserk. The shield strength depends on the rank of the Brute, as higher-ranked Brutes can withstand multiple shots from power weapons, though a rocket or two is sufficient enough to break through. However, most conventional weapons aren’t completely strong enough to fell a shield-less Brute, often taking two or more full magazines. Their heads are the most vulnerable, so go for the head shot. The brutes can and will berserk when given the opportunity, but those that hold back their aggressive nature are more brutal in combat, striking with weapons rather than their bare fists. Brutes can be assassinated Ala Halo 3 ODST, where the player climbs upon its back and drives their knife through the Brute’s thick neck. Chieftains and Tatarus are immune to being stuck, as well as assassination attempts, but head shots are still effective ways to cull them once their shields have been neutralized.
-New Enemy Classes:
-Brute Lance: A squad of grunts led by a blue armored Brute Minor. Wields the Brute Plasma Rifle and special variants on higher difficulties. If the leader falls in battle, the Grunts will scatter or charge in suicide.
-Brute Pack: A squad of Brute Minors led by a Red Armored Brute Captain. Minors wield Spiker Carbines, and the Captain wields a Brute Shot or Brute Ravager Shotgun. If the Captain falls falls, the Brutes will not scatter, and instead 25% will berserk.
-Brute Rangers: A trio of jet pack-clad Brutes wielding Covenant Carbines, Brute Predator Carbines or Beam Rifles on higher difficulties. Like to fight at a distance, but will often jump right into the thick of battle once their shields have been depleted.
-Brute Stalkers: A duo of Brutes clad in silver armor equipped with Active Camouflage and Brute Maulers or Brute Ravager Shotguns. Have the second-weakest shield strength compared to Brute Minors, but make up for this weakness in their tenacity and cunning. The most accurate with their grenade tosses.
-Brute Chopper: A single Brute riding a revamped take on the Classic Brute Chopper, equipped with powerful side-mounted cannons that fire explosive volleys in short bursts. It’s main weapon, however is it’s cruel forward frame, which along with it’s boost can ram into opposing and often unlucky vehicles, heavily damaging them or outright destroying them.
-Brute Prowler: Brute Squad vehicle mounted by a pack of four Jiralhanae, a revamped take upon the original vehicle from Halo 3. Brutes who sit upon the sleds are now partially protected by a metal plate built into the seat, but a skilled player with a sniper rifle can still easily dispatch them.
-Brute Reaver Walker: Not usable by players, a new bipedal vehicle with mounted anti-air launchers that fire powerful spikes that burst into shrapnel. Devastating against aircraft, has point-and-shoot capabilities with infantry and ground vehicles. A cameo appearance of the vehicle that appears in Halo Wars 2.
-New Enemy Bosses:
-Brute Chieftain: Comes in three variants. Crimson armor-clad Hammer Chieftains leap into battle with incredible force and swat away at any and all who get in their way, whether it is a Spartan, Marine or even unlucky covenant who happen to be in his raging path. These Gravity Hammer variant wielding maniacs have the most health of all, and often laugh or roar once their shields go out or when their health falls to a dangerous level. Dark Blue armored Plasma Chieftains lug a powerful Plasma Cannon into battle, cutting down anything they see with a terrible volley of plasma fire. They tend to be slower, but their shields are powerful, and they are so strong they can shake off an incoming vehicle intent on turning them into a speed bump. Gold armored Heavy Weapons Chieftains wield Fuel Rod Cannons, Plasma Launchers and anything that can make a big, smoldering crater in the ground. They are surprisingly quick for Brutes, and are three times as vicious.
-Brute Blisterback Walker (Legendary): A brand new addition to the Warzone Sandbox straight from the upcoming Halo Wars 2, a Legendary Brute Blisterback Walker that fires powerful missiles at players. When engaged from the ground, it also uses front mounted repeater cannons that shred infantry and light vehicles, while using its missiles to draw out enemies from cover. From the air, it can track flying vehicles with its missiles. When it gets low enough in health, it boosts up from the ground for a moment and then drops down with its mechanical legs with incredible force, crushing all who happen to be underneath it, and the blast radius can deplete shields. It moves slowly on its eight legs, but when it needs to cover some distance it hovers into the air and bursts forward until it finds better ground, and this move can splatter anyone unfortunate to be in front of it.
-Tartarus, Chieftain of the Brutes (Mythic): Big. Burly. Mohawked. This massive mean machine returns as a Mythic boss clad in sectioned golden armor, and still sports his signature white mane. As the Chieftain of the Brutes, he is strong, can withstand all manner of fire from conventional weapons as well as heavy weapons and vehicles, and sports a powerful shield stronger than his own Chieftains, who he leads into battle to dominate and conquer the unfortunate souls who fight against him. He wields the Fist of Rukt, a unique Mythic Gravity Hammer which can create a singularity that draws in enemies close to his range, and that can individually pull enemies closer to him so Tartarus can swat aside like flies. Each member of his Brute Pack wields a variant of the Gravity Hammer. Known to say mean things to strike fear into his enemies.

Part 2 Incoming…

(Part 2)
-New Brute Vehicles:
-T25 Brute Chopper: The Brute Chopper makes a return to the Halo Sandbox with a new coat of paint. A mass of twisted metal and a huge front tire, the Brute Chopper’s role is to splatter its way through infantry and small vehicles. It’s integrated boost function accomplishes this with much more gusto, but it only lasts for a short moment. The Chopper’s armor is concentrated to the front, and the dual cannons offer heavy, sustained firepower. It is so dangerous that you should flank it from its vulnerable sides and rear.
-Variant: Chopper Ultra: Shielded and extra armored, explosive rounds, extended boost time, ramming targe can severely harm heavy vehicles.
-Variant: Chopper Alpha: Extra armor, fires stronger rounds, extended boost time.
-Brute Prowler: The Brute Prowler also makes its return to the Halo Sandbox with a new coat of paint. Similar to the Chopper, the Brute Prowler has a well-armored front that protects the driver from most small-arms fire. Instead of a Plasma Turret like it’s previous incarnation, it sports a brand new Brute Repeater Cannon, which fires heavy spiker rounds, and boasts a 360-degree spin radius effective for laying down impressive suppressing fire. The Prowler also allows for two passengers to be carried on it’s side-sleds, now with a little extra protection against small caliber weapons. Granted, an experienced marksman or explosives genius can make quick work of a fully staffed Prowler.
-Variant: Prowler Ultra: More armor, shielded, repeater cannon does explosive damage, gains boost for ramming.
-Variant: Prowler Alpha: More armor, repeater cannon does more damage.
-New Brute Weapons:
-T52 Brute Mauler: A re-skin from Halo 3. Powerful at close range, the Brute Mauler has a much faster rate of fire than other close-assault weapons like the Shotgun. Equipped with a wicked blade for extra melee damage.
-Variant: Fist of Macabeus: Three-round burst
-T25 C Brute Spiker Carbine: A re-skin from Halo Reach. The Brute Spiker Carbine is a fast-firing rifle with a large magazine and very fast reload time. Despite their impressive rate of fire, the weapon’s individual projectiles tend to travel slowly and lose accuracy at range. It can be quite intimidating at close range thanks to the large blades that have been affixed to the rifle’s underside, and can inflict significant melee damage.
-Variant: Even faster rate of fire, five-round bursts
-Brute Shot Grenade Launcher: A re-skin from Halo 2 Anniversary. A great weapon to lay down suppressing fire against the enemy, boasts a quick rate of fire that fires more projectiles in a splash-damage radius, also making it effective against small vehicles. Equipped with a savage blade for lethal melee strikes.
-Variant: Grenade blasts cause EMP effect
-Variant: Grenade blasts are incindiary
-Spike Grenade: A re-skin from Halo 3. Spike Grenades stick to anything they touch, and are perfect for setting up last minute traps. Due to their shape, they are less suited to long range, but are still an effective means to severely weaken clusters of enemies.
-T2 EW/H Fist of Rukt (MYTHIC): Mythic Gravity Hammer from Halo 2 Anniversary. Wielded into battle by the Chieftain of the Brutes himself, this Mythic Gravity Hammer is available to crush your foes with the very enexorable force of gravity itself. When used normally, it produces a vortex of energy that draws in enemies, vehicles and objects for a few seconds and explodes in a powerful singularity. Note that you can also bash at your helpless foes as they remain trapped with the Fist of Rukt’s melee swing.
-Brute Predator Carbine: A new Brute weapon analog to the Covenant Carbine, Forerunner Light Rifle and UNSC DMR, armed with a bayonet on its barrel for extra melee damage in the form of a thrust. Has a rather small magazine, but deals impressive damage. Fires kinetic rounds much like the Mauler, but at farther distances. Equipped with a 3.5x scope.
-Brute Ravager Shotgun: A new Brute weapon analog to the Forerunner Scattershot and UNSC Shotgun, a bladed, short-ranged, sawed-off shotgun with incredible firepower and spread. Has incredibly poor range but can one-shot most foes when close to them. Fires a blast of spikes that tears through armor like butter, but suffers from a very small magazine size. The blade underneath its barrels can deliver a savage downward melee strike.
-New Warzone/Firefight Maps:
-Return to the Ark: Set in the massive desert battlefield that took place before the Cartographer Room on the Ark, Spartans must take measures to defend their base from the Brute onslaught.
-Fall of Alpha Base: Set on the plateau where the Pillar of Autumn made her final landing aboard the ring world Halo.
-New Arena Maps:
-High Noon (Hang 'em High Remake): Pockmarked with cover and range, gives many opportunities for opponents to flank each other or even face off in a lone showdown. Remake of Hang 'em High from Halo CE.
-Crucible (Colossus Remake): A Brute themed version of the symmetrical map from Halo 2, has a very strong arena feel to it.
-New Armor Configurations:
-EOD: Restored from its Halo 4 appearance, the Explosive Ordinance Disposal armor set returns in the fight against the Jiralhanae. Uses a retextured Halo Reach version for the helmet.
-EVA: Restored from its Halo 3 appearance.
-Silverback: Returning from it’s appearance in Halo Online, this heavy-plated armor configuration makes it’s debut just in time for the Brute onslaught.
-Pack Master: A new armor set based off of the Brute Captain armor from Halo 3 and Halo Reach, equipped with the singular helmet spike and thick armor plating.
-New Arena Game type:
-Juggernaut: A replica of the game type from Halo Reach, one Spartan is the Juggernaut, those who kill the Juggernaut become Juggernaut, and Juggernauts wield Gravity Hammers. First to most kills wins.
-New Miscellaneous REQs:
-Weapon Skins
-Brute Themed Emblems
-Stance: Juggernaut- Fist of Rukt in raised position.
-Stance: Metaphysical- Play on the Meta from RvB, Brute Shot at the ready.

It seems like you spent a lot of time on this post but…it is really hard to read. Maybe next time use paragraphs.

Nah, it looked better in Reach

Literally anything that actually makes Halo 5 feel like a Halo game, cause the crummy MM and spamtacular Warzone are both a joke compared to what Halo used to be, and Warzone Firefight is an insult to the game mode, respawn timer penalties…FOR COMPLETEING YOUR GOAL PER ROUND?!?! No matter what, 5 minute time limit and respawn timer increase break the game, it’s not challenging, it’s stupid, in the most insulting form of the word. A challenge is to simply set a difficulty setting, legendary, for example, then set a goal, Kill the Decon Pipap and Tomp Fury of Bahalo in 12 minutes. That would make it feel Halo to me, and probably anyone else who started Halo before 343 crippled it.

Too big to read and all I want in Halo 5 is gamemodes from previously Halos like KoTH, VIP & Oddball and original developer made maps. The REQ system is already bloated with a lot of ugly looking helmets, weapon skins, weapon variants and vehicle variants.

As long as I get my revenant back I’m fine…

Oh and it goes without saying that Spire needs to return alongside Deathisland

I’d call this update “Finishing the Fight” because of all the Halo 3 content listed.

Playable elites.

This sounds pretty meaty and fun though I’d add one little thing: Atriox from HW2, as a mythic boss. That gravity mace of his would be absolutely devastating >:D

>>Not liking Monkey Business as a reference to the Brutes.

It was my favorite. I totally think they should have a Brute-themed update called Monkey Business
