Potential for halo 6

I have been thinking, and my thoughts show a lot of hope for Halo 6.

Multiplayer- I think Halo 5’s competitive arena is near perfect. I think with just a little tweaking(sprint arguments, Spartan ability arguments) Halo 6 could have a perfect competitive multiplayer. HOWEVER, the casual experience at launch should be better. When Halo 6 launches, social playlists and forge should be available. Warzone should stay(I think it is fairly good), but now that 343 has tested Warzone, for Halo 6 their development time for multiplayer should be focused on perfecting and adding gamemodes from previous games, and making good, memorable maps.

Campaign- Halo 5 had several problems. When you think of Halo 5 as a sequel to Halo 4, you find it is disconnected and does not tie loose ends. But if you think of it as a transition to Halo 6, Halo 6 can have a lot of potential. Now that we know what happens with Cortana, Chief’s emotions will be all over the place. The loose end from halo 4 when Cortana “dies” can be continued on, and could be very interesting in Halo 6. Frank O’Conner also claimed 6’s story to be much more human. There is huge potential in the emotion of the campaign, as well as story as we do not know what the Halo in 5 means or what will happen to Infinity, as well as Halsey and the Spartans

Marketing- Honestly, 343 is VERY good at this. As long as it stays true to the games campaign, no worries here.

Edit: Sorry for wall of text. Reply with your thought on Halo 6’s potential and what it should do.

I think there is no hope for Halo with 343 at the wheel. IMO, they should do H3A and call it quits. Or fix the damn MCC first.

Make Halo 6 2 players per console on Xbox Live, and ability to forge without Xbox Live, and the game will already be one level above Halo 5.

One of my major complaints is how they stressed that Halo 5 would be the darkest Halo to date. Wtf happened there? There’s nothing dark about the campaign, like at all. This leads me to believe something happened in the middle of production to change that

Yeah, the millions of people on the outer colonies getting wiped out and the revelation that Cortana is trying to wipe out human life isn’t dark at all.

It’s hardly a revelation. They just sort of blatantly mention that Cortana is being a -Yoink!- and they go try and stop her.

You can’t even tell if the Guardians activating was a huge deal. Did they wipe out people? We don’t get to see that. We hardly see any civilians in the campaign. Cortona said she wants to police the universe. This story wasn’t as dark as it should have been. This campaign was so rushed.

Being told that is one thing, seeing it is another. Soldiers die in combat, but nobody is really affected by it. If you could watch soldiers die, or go to their funerals, that’s dark. Same thing here, just because there’s some chatter about how people died has 0 effect. What’s darker. “Those guardians killed people” or as the guardians rise, seeing buildings collapse and seeing and hearing people scream and die? The game is rated PG13 for !Yoink! sake. Can’t have “the darkest halo yet” when your limted to that rating

You can say Halo 6 has potential, but so did Halo 5. Its story had a LOT of potential and look what we get. A sorry excuse for a Halo campaign. Not only that, but 343i claims that it was to be the darkest and most dramatic Halo campaign to date. They were probably referring to another future Halo game.

Maybe they can have a Q&A panel and someone asks these questions

A shame she isn’t actually trying to wipe out human life. She threatens death on those who refuse to obey her or, as is implied by the “remake you in our image” line use Composers to turn people into AIs. It isn’t so much dark as it is a rehash of the same kind of villainy we saw with the Prophets and Didact. I’d argue Halo 4 was darker when we got to see the composition process in its grisly detail and had to deal with the realization that the machines we fought were trapped humans forced to kill against their will. That detail is never mentioned once in Halo 5 at all with the Knights. The scene with the woman crying out for help in Halo 5 while climbing the space elevator was grim, but I felt all seriousness about Cortana’s darkness vanish when she tried mocking Osiris like a petulant child. It was laughable.

Hopefully Halo 6 will explain those loose ends, besides the janis key. It only had one purpose and it was to find the absolute record. So that’s out of the bus. Marketing was off but it was to get you thinking who is the good guy and who is the bad guy. I thought Master Chief was the bad guy, but no he was acting on his own emotions because of Cortana, he tried to bring her home. When you act on your emotions, you actually tend to do irrational things. Disobeying orders by saying “I don’t like it”, abandoning his post? Kinda screams that Master Chief has gone rogue for a bit. And Fireteam Osiris does not understand what was happening. They were on orders and told what to do.

It got one to think about where Chief and Locke stood, but the game presented little in the way of a moral conundrum. If anything, Chief was just being stupid to drive the plot forward and undermined the claim by 343 that Chief would be working to move past her loss with her being present to begin with. Oops.

Not to mention any names, but the writer for Halo 5 should not write Halo 6. The campaign is a cluster

And this is the sad part. Halo 5, while still barely in the top 10 most played games, wasted a lot of potential. It could have been the game that brought back Halo to its glory days, but alas, it did not. It’s still a good game, but not for everyone. However, Halo 6 really has potential. 343 has perfected the weapon sandbox, competitive multiplayer, have done an emotional campaign(Halo 4), and finally, finally, have set their goal multiplayer. Development time for halo 6 can be spent on making a good campaign, progression system, and more maps and game types at launch. But who knows what they will do…
