So… I don’t play this game a whole lot… In all honesty I loved the beta and then something happened on the way to retail release and this game got me in a borderline “can’t stand it” mindset.
First off, I did relatively well when it first released, didn’t understand the ranking system, hit diamond or something and played alright, but the controls were rotten fugly, I couldn’t stand aiming at someone down a staircase and simply not being able to trace them quick enough due to whatever slowdown those whizbang pro players you were listening to introduced. And warzone? Cool idea, but meh. It’s the same as the wave co-op thang to me, doesn’t deserve to be anywhere near the focus of the game. And all the req pack rubbish… Ok I’ll stop. But I was well put off. Ok one more thing… the req pack rubbish is down right disheartening, and disgusting. But I digress.
I come back on the verbal of a friend telling me the controls changed and we need to check it out again, haven’t played for an age and straight back into DIAMOND. I had to figure the controls out again and I was dead on spawn over and over again every time. And for each death, I get to spawn on the other side of the map, between my team mates, and 4 brutal, every day diamond players, while I figure out the booster button again. I know, my fault for playing online first, but infuriating. Unranked matches please?? I go to the gym to sweat, Halo is my play time. Off I go again to play anything else as the controls didn’t improve one bit either. Which brings me to my final point.
We came back again last night, Hooray! Controls are updated! Or at least the options are there to be mucked with and some semblance of normalcy can be put back into the controls. GREAT! Ranks are also reset, DOUBLE GREAT!! Well, until we’re figuring out control settings and keep getting put up against some amazing players… Please get rid of that SBMM, it’s a cancer in every game right now. Your all drinking the same coolade, and no, it doesn’t make the plants grow. Or… at least give us a choice of unranked! As my final point, after taking a beating, and not realising every game is ranked, I jump off to run to the kitchen for a tick, and come back to a BAN. A 10 MINUTE BAN, FOR A SINGLE MATCH EXIT. Cool. I’ve been wanting that for ages, sometimes I persevere but I’m thankful for the not so gentle push to play something else.
So hey 343, could you please re-hire those peeps who loved gaming, and all the fun things to do with gaming? Maybe that is you guys. Look deep inside yourselves for that fun lil human you are. Cause hey, I ain’t no e-sports pro, and sometimes, my kitchen could be on fire, and priorities. Ya know, permanent ban from life if that goes wrong, but hey, I got through that halo match. Seriously, take a step back and put yourself in the millions of players shoes. I was so excited for this Halo, the beta was a blast, and now, I’d rather play COD. And they introduced goofy dota-esque characters in full fluro dress, and god-awful animations to taunt the losing team with after every match. Yes, I’d rather that laggy BS than Halo currently. I’d kill for a full release of that beta Halo though.
P.S. The fluro guns don’t suit Halo either, I think you should stop about now with that, and do something, well good. PLEASE, don’t put master chief in any multi coloured, whackjob dancing emotes in Halo 6. He’s better than that, and some game elements shouldn’t be copied.
