On the All Forums page under the Community section, the News forum used to be a place where we could discuss news regarding Halo in general. In fact, the subtitle for this forum still says “DISCUSS NEWS, BLOGS AND EVENTS”. However, it is impossible to post a new topic or comment on existing topics. If your goal is to have a dedicated forum just for news announcements without end users posting topics, there is already an “Announcements” forum expressly for that purpose!
Can you guys please fix or rethink the News forum? Whether the change was intentional or not, it really seems like a mistake.
It’s been like that for a quite a while now. After the forums were update the permissions for the News forum looks to have been nuked and people started posting pretty much anything in there. Since it got locked down again it doesn’t seem to have been getting used - personally I’d like to see that happen again.

Agreed. I found myself curious about the ever elusive Stephen Spielberg show again and figured that would be the best place to throw out a feeler.
Traditionally the news forum was admin only and I think if it was ever reopened it would stay that way. So any blog or news articles would have a corresponding topic in the news section, but no community made topics would be added there. General Discussion is probably the best place to discuss the Halo TV show, I think there’s at least 1 recently active topic discussing that right now
