Add your own idea of what Halo: 4 should have or shouldn’t have.
Such a nice thread, plain and simple.
While there’s many things I would like to have in Halo 4, I’ll just say those that aren’t frequently mentioned.
-Alternate push melee: Basically a melee done by holding the B button. It’s different in that it does reduced damage but has an increased pushback affect. It adds another layer of skill to the CQC. It would require enviromental awareness to use effectively. In CQC with your back to a ledge? Avoid melee range. Have your opponent with a back to a ledge? Engage in melee range. Could give some players a chance when facing a person with a CQC weapon while being more consistent and reliable than oh, lets say SWORD BLOCK.
-Evade as standard ability: This particular ability has a plethora of tactical uses. But one problem it has is as a crutch. So In order to prevent this I suggest making it one evade per full charge, slightly shorter distance, and a slightly longer recharge time. There’s also a new addition I’d like to add to this. By pressing B mid-evade you can cancel your evade half-way through. This would be invaluable in strafe strategies. AS of now it’s strafe-jump-crouch. With this it would be crouch-strafe-jump-evade-half evade, adding a layer of depth and skill to strafing. (Assuming base movement speed is upped this would be very useful, One of the flaws in Reach is that evade was too much more fast above average movement speed.) It would also punish those who use it incorrectly, since now its main use is strafe, bumping into a wall will mess up your strafe(Since now you can only strafe in one direction, making you predictable.)
It is also predictable and counterable. It would be most proficient when your shields are down to avoid the headshot. Knowing this a player can look at the environment surrounding his enemy. If his enemy is right next to a wall, you know he won’t evade there, if he is a short distance, you know he might half-evade there, etc. All in all I think this would be a great addition to Halo and serve to increase skill gap. Thoughts?
Elite Ops. Elite ops(Or Honor Guard) is basically brute hunting, and collaborating with UNSC forces on flood, rebels,(on both sides) and other threats.
BUT SINCE 343 HAS DECIDED TO HAVE SANGAHELI RE-JOIN THE COVENANT I GUESS THAT WON’T BE HAPPENING!
One more thing. Precision weapons should do more damage on each shot if you hit someone on the head even if they have full shields. I know it doesn’t make sense canon-wise but Gameplay>Canon. It would increase the skill gap a TREMENDOUS amount. I don’t know why they

IMO It SHOULD have Evade like the genius above says :DDD
It SHOULDN’T have the ability to change the contents of your loadouts mid-game.
It SHOULD have a diverse range of map designs.
It SHOULDN’T have Insta-Spawn. (I know it’s Slayer-only, don’t care. Slayer types are all I play.)
It SHOULD have a balanced but diverse selection of MP loadout options.
It SHOULDN’T have tons of stuff that is just fluff. (I.E 10 guns that are just slightly modified versions of each other.)
That’s all I can think of right now.

I concur. I found it displeasing in Reach that they couldn’t speak English. It ruined their character, no more funny lines that had given them that pazaz in the prior games.
It then killed their character when 343 tried to go for a “scarier” look. Grunts were never scary, they were never supposed to be, and frankly I don’t see them working as one. They were always those guys who were weak and made you feel like you had everything under control. They won’t ever be scary, how can they? You kill them in a single shot to the head. Fact is you can’t take something as feeble and weak as a grunt and try to make it scary. An Elite? Ya, maybe. A Grunt? IMHO No.
I’m more along the lines of branching out into other spin offs that can be tied to the FPS aspect of Halo. I was really disappointed in Armored Core V. I think HALO inspired mechas could do better job. Let alone Halo Wars being retuned for Space Battles and Ship building. CCP wants to merge EVE online with PS3 FPS console mercs. I can see the Halo Universe easily improving on that and bettering it.
If anything I would’ve had Halo 4 introduce Halo styled Mecha Combat in the campaign in maybe one or two missions that could take off into it’s own genera down the road. Halo player have been using vehicles since CE, so introducing mecha that were as nimble as Warthogs rushing around a Forge world map would be tight.

Thats the reason you’re not getting the LE?? Really? Firefight was never that great, it was the most fun in Halo 3 ODST but im not to torn apart of no firefight. Im pretty sick of it to be honest…
