Am I the only one who dearly misses interacting with other players? The lack of post game lobby makes for such a solitary experience and after a good game of matchmaking I struggle to find who it was I was talking to and party up with them.
I don’t use a mic, but having a post game lobby would be nice. If you managed to (miraculously) find a decent team of randoms, it’d be nice to stay together in a convenient way. You don’t like them, then you can easily quit out. It seems weird the default is to disband everyone.
It’s been so long since I played Halo 5… what was it like there?
I’m surprised you don’t get to see other players in your team pre-match, would be more exposure to customisation options which in turn might drive their microtransactions. You’d think that would be a big tick for the developers given the FTP model.
I’d definitely see the appeal in post game for potentially letting you continue playing with players that you enjoyed playing with/played well.
I can only presume this has something to do with minimising the load times going in to a game and getting in to your next game as quickly as possible.
This is absolutely a horrendous and cowardly decision by the project team at 343 to omit this.
Trash talk is part of the game. So, we need to talk to the enemy team as well. COD did it a certain way where the recently dead player can blurt out their reaction for 1 second. It would be condescending to ask 343 for the exact same and even mention COD. But, I’m doing it. Because, you didn’t do it!!!
-Pre-game lobby with teammates is safe, you didn’t even do that!
-Post-game lobby is a great idea.
-But my favorite is pre-game open chat lobby with the enemy team. This way you can talk trash even before the game starts, and once it ends, your stats might speak for you (even though I would prefer post game lobby with enemy also)
It’s not like you instantly load into a new game anyway
So an extra few seconds to decide if you want to quit the post game lobby shouldn’t make much difference.
Well you just mentioned another reason why they have excluded this feature…
…this applies to both pre and post game lobbies, so players don’t have another excuse to quit the game if they can’t see who they are playing (whether that be by name, platform or rank).
Similarly this is also why gametype and map are probably not displayed in the pre game lobby (even though there is a way to find this before the game fully loads). A veto system needs to be implemented for this issue.
In addition, a lot of players/teams also chat in party so pre or post game trash talk is pretty much a thing of the past…and let’s not even get on to the subject of reports they would have to deal with for abusive messages/chat. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, but from the dev side, I can completely understand why they wouldn’t implement it as it’s another headache/work stream that they could do without.
Post-game lobby with the “Party Up” feature was super convenient in H3. Would be great if they brought it back for Infinite. I’ve tried teaming up with others after a game, but usually by the time I can get into the dashboard, find their Gamertag in the “Recently Played With” tab, and send them a message, they’re already locked into another game.
I’m talking only about quitting out of post match lobbies.
I wish you could toggle a lobby option, like those who just wanna get into a game can just move on, and those who want to stay and replay can. I miss the banter, I miss the rivalry, I miss the community, all so that you can get into a game faster. Just have those with lobies turned off as fillers.
Meeting new people isnt a thing anymore on online games because of stuff like this. And I met some cool people back in the days of Halo3 and MW2.
Unfortunately they either don’t care or can’t won’t change it or won’t communicate if it’s a feasible change.
Maybe a solid yes no with their big update but I doubt it.
Lobbies, OG Shotties, MCC style playlists all need a comeback…
