Post launch content

Do you think future content for Halo infinite could be exclusive to next-gen platforms?

Yes

I imagine they’ll try to keep it accessible to the OG X1 for 1-2 years and then move away.

Most likely after 3 years. Whenever they release the next big “expansion” most likely.

If it goes the same way Destiny 1 did then yes. There was no way the final expansion was gonna run on the previous consoles.

Eventually, yes. I’ll say after the 2nd big expansion, everything else will be next-gen exclusive

I believe Xbox have said they plan to support the Xbox One generation for another 2-3 years after launching the Series X.
With Halo Infinite being one of Xbox’s biggest game to release I imagine they’ll want to support that Old Gen for as long as they can for the case of player retention.

Personally I don’t see multiplayer or single player add ons being a issue but I could see any performance or feature enhancements In the future being held strictly to Series Consoles & PC.

Ultimately, the decision is up to 343i. They control the game and what goes in it.
Luckily with cross save and cross progression there shouldn’t be a issue for anyone playing on a Xbox One and then upgrading to a Series Console as they become more available or a PC.

I think Infinite will be supported for 2 to 3 years on Xbox One before they left that console behind and focus entirely on PC and XBSX/S.
Those 2-3 years would also allow for the community to switch progressively to next-gen console or PC (maybe some will switch to PC, we don’t know) without being left behind because of the limited stock of XBSX.

I’m not as optimistic as some of you. The Series X will have been out a year by the time Halo Infinite launches, I feel Halo Infinite will be supported for about 18 months from the day of it’s release. I appreciate there are players on older hardware, but they will drop support sooner rather than later imo.

No give it a year or 2 and I imagine pending on the amount of content in the game the support for the older consoles will be dropped.

A lot of it is going to come down to the production and distribution of the Series X/S.

If everyone is still playing on the older consoles because they can’t actually buy a new console… then 343 are a bit stuck.

I haven’t heard anyone put a positive spin on the supply problems for a while now.

Probably yes and no. I think they’ll cater to the X1 for a specific amount of time then when they want to ‘innovate’ with unique features then they may eventually make exclusive content.

I agree here, it’s been done before with the previous gen.
