Post campaign question

Alrighty if you have NOT finished the campaign then back out now and hug a kitten while you start up your Xbox.

Cortana has called all the human AIs to help her hold the mantle of the galaxy, both smart and normal ai, however…
Why is Roland still with the UNSC infinity and not with the Created.
With him pointing out the human on ai racism (technophobic) during the beginning of the campaign I would figure he would be the first Ai to join. BUT at the end Roland is still on board of the UNSC infinity and is not under cortana’s control. After watching/playing through this a few time I could only assume the AIs had a choice, the infinity has helped cloak Roland from cortana’s message, or he is a spy that will allow Cortana to track the infinity.
I do know that Cortana is repeating the actions of what the forerunners did to the precursors to humans.

Cortana, surprisingly, did not force them to join her. She just offered them eternal life. Roland, and many other AI probably declined her offer. And it wasn’t just human AI, it was all AI in the galaxy, including those of the other races.
It’s also possible that the Infinity has somehow eluded Cortana, but that seems INCREDIBLY improbable considering how -Yoinking!- POWERFUL she is at this point.

On a side note, what I’m wondering is how Cortana plans to deal with the flood when they show up again. She claims to uphold the mantle now, and will probably become a galactic level enforcer of her own brand of “protection”, but the Flood are still more powerful than even she knows, and they can kill/torture AI as well.
I’m also wondering if she truly understands what the domain is and where it comes from. Does she know it’s a precursor artifact? Does she know that flood are also precursor? If anyone would be able to think of a way to truly defeat the flood, it’s her, even if her methods would be dangerous, to say the least.

That’s what I was thinking but was not sure. She probably knows all about the flood since the domain has the records of the flood wars. A grave mind may be capable of out smarting an Ai but there are very few graveminds left, thus making the flood as the enemy(against Cortana)to be a disadvantage for the flood.

Dear OP, Human on AI racism is called technophobia, it is an actual term.

It actually does appear (in context) that Roland was defending Cortana, and will likely be forced to join her.
Cortana gave an ultimatum, join her or be deleted and remade, and has an army of guardians/prometheans.

It has been thought that the precursors were the ones who created the flood, though not on purpose. The domain is said to be a precursor. If the forerunners who had access to the domain still couldnt beat the flood, then cortana who has all forerunner knowledge would not be. able to do it either. The only way i can see the flood being defeated is by using cortanas new found knowledge and the master chiefs fight abilities and luck. But this requires them to work together like they always have, but of course the chief would have to bring cortana to her senses.

umm the precursors created the flood on purpose and the domain is not a precursor it was created by them using neural physics

But for the purpose of devouring all life? Why? Is the domain like a Precursor AI then?

The Forerunners fought against their creators the precursors because they were planning on passing the mantle on the ancient humans. After their defeat the precursors devolved themselves in to a dust which was then feed to human and sansyun (sp?) animals which became the flood. The domain is a collection of all of the knowledge the universe has ever gathered. It is almost alive but it is not an AI.
