Well I’ve only got a couple warzone and fightfight matches under my belt since the update so time will tell if this holds true but…HOLY F*ing St! Is it just me or does anyone see a HUGE improvement in the quality of their connection to matches?! Maybe I’m crazy but it seems like 343 went in and polished up warzone some more without mentioning it in their update notes. By polished up I mean that there text for boss names seems slightly different and the frame rate for matches seem a lot more consistent.
Everything from movement and shooting appears a lot more consistent and responsive, I’m no longer dumping entire clips into watchers and crawlers from 10 feet only to get two shotted by them when I reload and I’m mowing down AI round after round in Firefight with what appears to be a faster rocket pod recharge rate in the Wasp. I mean I’ve played this game for a while now and now this game feels smoother and looks better than ever. Idk though I wanted to post this so that others can chime in with their experience with their connection quality and say if they’ve noticed a crisper looking game too. I’m leaving team balancing out of the conversation because that’s harder to judgement from a few matches.
If I missed an update announcement to the war zone system to refine connections and visuals I apologize but I just needed to give 343 a break from the classic gamer rage comments to say, “If I’m not crazy and you did update war zone to improve visuals and connection quality then I thank you because lag has been the #1 issue preventing me from enjoying this game” and if I’m wrong and nothing was done then whatever I don’t care if I sound stupid, my game is running smoother than ever so gotta run, it’s time jump back into the fray!

Well at least it was solid for a little while, now I’m lucky to get 50% of my matches in warzone to start from launch; half the time I’m tossed into shitshows where half a team quit after the other team has reached 500 and is in the process of stomping my team and our level 3 reqs. I’m not saying I’ve never quit a game halfway through but I’ve maybe only quit a game a couple dozen times in the hundreds of matches I’ve played and it feels like I’m penalized by getting thrown into those matches where the team’s are lopsided and the snowball effect is already in full force. I can’t be alone in thinking that’s pretty -Yoink- because there’s no way I can matchmake into new games only and yes its not always the end of the world to jump into an existing game but if it happens 3 times in a row it gets annoying fast. So if you’re saying you aren’t getting quality connections in game would you agree with me if I said that the matchmaking system is still totally useless? Expanded, Balanced & Focused are the three types but they all account for connection quality, player level and team composition without giving anyone the choice to prioritize connection quality over everything else. If I focus search for a match I get placed in games with similar skilled players all the time (even though there’s always a few newbies on the team too but whatever) but the connection is the most annoying and unpredictable part of my matches. If you’ve had a different problem be sure to respond because at this point I’m try to compile a massive list of player issues with matchmaking. I know there are other threads on that topic already but I’m passing my info on to some Youtubers and I need recent and well thought out comments because I’m sick of getting one good day of gaming for every 7 days of laggy and unbalanced/lopsided and halfway finished games. Sorry for the rambling response but you took a minute to make one comment so I’m just hoping you’ll spend another couple condensing your problems with the matchmaking into a couple main points so I can add them to my player response list.
