Lemme say I just want a Light Rifle skin.
No, not necessarily Imprint, anything will do.
That whole LR-skin-is-console-exclusive-thing just sucks. If we had some skin, and the console owners had an additonal special one, everything would be fine. But this way, the console just sells better. Cheap!
> I would like to see some bonus content in the Market Place, except for FOTUS or Prime. Those two are really special, I do not think they should be sold.
This.
Pre-orders I wouldn’t mind but limited edition should stay as it was or it wouldn’t be limited if there’s an infinite amount.
I didn’t mean that Fotus and Locus were the same, but isn’t Locus a limited edition armor set? I definitely think that new armors would be cool, especially if new commendations were somehow made. It would give us something new to work towards.
I think new weapon skins would be awesome!

You had to get it from that app.
BUT
It was also a pre-order from a site called Gorillagaming.com or something.
So I take it most people don’t mind preorder armors going on sale, such as Locus? I think Armors, armor skins, and weapon skins would be a great form of DLC.

No Locus is just a helmet (not an armour set) and was available through pre order and I believe an app for 7-11.
Fotus and Recruit Prime should not be made available to the everyone. Otherwise all the people who paid hard earned money for the LIMITED EDITION console and LIMITED EDITION game wouldn’t have the exclusive they paid for.
Also new armours cannot be added to the game without a massive title update (I’m talking GB here not MB). Having new armours as DLC would mean that hit boxes, character animations etc. would have to be coded and inserted into the games existing code. Armour/weapon skins are different as they are basically just that, a new texture that can be added/removed easily.
There are new weapon/armour skins coming with the next line of Halo 4 action figures from McFarlane Toys.
> <mark>I think that when people bought the Halo 4 Edition Xbox 360, they bought it for the Xbox, not the armor itself. If so, that’s pretty sad.</mark>
I purchased the Halo 4 Xbox 360 because I wanted the Xbox, the Memory, the Game and some awesome controllers. The DLC that came with it was a nice extra.
It was also advertised as Exclusive Content.
Unless you purchase a code via Ebay or buy a H4 Console you are NOT entitled to FOTUS and I would consider it an insult if 343 even attempted to sell it to people.
The armor doesn’t even look that great, but the fact that it was advertised as Exclusive DLC should be enough to stop people begging on the Forums for it.
I purchased the console and EVERYTHING that came with it. All of the content in that box was listed as exclusive.
343 said that in the future they may release the Pre-Order DLC to everyone. That’s fine, I’m sure everyone agrees that releasing stuff like that is fair. But asking them to release content that they advertised as exclusive is just stupid.
I recently purchased my Fotus code off of ebay. Seeing that so many people pay 50-100 would be an insult to sell it. Even more of an insult if you bought the console. At first, I said the same thing as you, but now realizing the price people had to pay is absurd. Then they find it in the marketplace for $20, how do you think they feel.
Pre-Order bonuses are the same case, but they can get away with it because it wasn’t as expensive. They are called pre order bonuses for a reason. If they do put them in the Marketplace, they probably shouldn’t look the same as the regular bonus.
Im not trying to be offensive, its just my opinion.
Actually, a lot of people bought the Halo 4 Xbox, just to turn around and sell it for more, and kept the code, or sold it off separately (also for a crazy price). It doesn’t seem that exclusive, if people are still buying the codes off Ebay. Sure, it may be $100 for the code, but the fact that people are still buying them kind of makes it seem like their is unlimited Fotus codes, just that no one used them yet.
If something is exclusive, at least in my opinion, then there should be a cap on how many are in existence.

Well, how many people do you see with the Fotus?
there is new armor you can buy, except you have to buy the new series action figures for it. greed is not good 343…

So what you’re saying is you believe that if something is exclusive it also has to be limited? That’s just…stupid.
Microsoft can and will make as many consoles as they wish if it means they’re going to gain more profit. I guarantee you that they have plenty of these consoles in stock, but does that mean that the people who purchased the console and code should be ripped off so you can make your power ranger look a little more shiny?
No, and that’s a cheap tactic if they ever even consider it.
I purchased the console and so did many others, we are entitled to the armor and as I’ve said many times before if you want it, buy a console or buy a code because there’s been many threads like this in the past and all of them have been ignored and buried.
Also, I would LOVE to know where you got your statistics from with this comment.
> a lot of people bought the Halo 4 Xbox, just to turn around and sell it for more, and kept the code
It strikes me as odd that nobody has thought of this yet:
a FOTUS skin
think about it, people who have FOTUS already keep their exclusive, but people who want to use that model of helmet can still have it (because unlike recruit PRME the FOTUS helmet model is not obtainable without codes)
make the pattern easy to see so that one can easily tell if the user purchased the console, or just the DLC code for a skin variant of it.
would that not please both parties?
New armour. Not Fotus or Prime. I didn’t get those but I know I wouldn’t be too happy if I did and now they’re being sold.

I think a better thing to do would be to take off the horn and give it a different skin. The Horn is one of the defining factors. Sort of like being able to get the recon helmet in Halo 3 but not the flaming one.

see the problem with that is that requires a new model, which is impossible without a huge update to all the maps… so that’s not an option really
A good bit of time has certainly passed since the launch of Halo 4. I think it would be pretty cool for 343i to offer new armours in the store or even add some in-game.

Not really. They could just hide it. Remove any kind of visible mapping. Sort of how like the Elite’s plasma daggers worked in Reach.
> Not really. They could just hide it. Remove any kind of visible mapping. Sort of how like the Elite’s plasma daggers worked in Reach.
I guess, but you have to take into account the plasma daggers were coded like that from the off with halo reach, i imagine it would be harder for it to be done post-launch, that, and some people might only want the FOTUS for the horn anyway, which makes the removal of it rather silly, the purpose of a skinned version would be to give people that helmet, not a chopped up one, then its not really proper FOTUS, its a modified FOTUS.
I agree that armor cannot be modified here, but if they already have models like FOTUS, Deadeye, Locus, etc. just changing a skin would be doable since they’re doing it with the McFarlane figures.
