Possible theory for Chief being blamed.

Im guessing that maybe the colony that we saw at the end of Halo 4 (Go to 4:10) while the Didact is narrating and you see the marines coming out of the pelican and looking around is the same colony that is destroyed in those two trailers. Maybe the Didact or some other enemy, was attacking that colony and Chief was called upon to help with the fight but had to make a very hard decision to turn his back and not help them. He may have needed to do something of greater importance to saving the human race like finding the Mantle before the Forerunners do. I don’t know really. It’s just my theory of what Chief might have done to make ONI and Locke question his actions.

he’s gone rogue. that’s why they’re after him. They don’t know where he is, what his goals/plans are, and he is a Spartan II as well, one of the last as there’s like a dozen left I think?

Isn’t that “colony” New Phoneix, Earth?

It is indeed

But I’m explaining about why he’s possibly gone rogue. Chief’s higher-up officials wouldn’t agree to him abandoning his current objective to saving this colony to finding a Mantle, would they? I know what generation Spartan he is.

I’m pretty sure ONI is just telling Locke lies, getting him to hate MC, and painting him as a bad guy because MC wont play ONI’s game and is thus seen as a threat.

Uh, wrong. In the background of the live trailers, there are TWO moons.

I don’t know though. Knowing Locke, you would think he would be a smart enough man to know who the Master Chief is and what he has already done to save mankind from the events of Halos 1-3. So I doubt that he actually really hates the Chief.

Hold up. People are getting confused here I think…especially the OP. They appear to think the locations seen in the ‘Halo 4’ epilogue and in the most recent teaser trailers are the same place.

So, OP, let me just stop you right there and say it is a fact that they are not the same place. The city you see an the end of ‘Halo 4’ is New Pheonix, on Earth - right after the Didact used the Composer on it to harvest it’s inhabitants. The location in the teaser trailers is unknown at this time, and the events depicted in those trailers are not canon by any means. It is basically just a promotion for ‘Halo 5’ and the “hunt the truth” marketing campaign.

Ahhh okay. That makes sense now. Yeah they did look very similar but that’s my bad. But my theory still stands. Even if it was a completely different colony, Chief may have had to abandoned his objective of defending it.

And there may be some elements in those trailers that are indeed canon. They wouldn’t show those trailers in the first place if they weren’t canon.

they wouldn’t? he’s arguably the greatest hero in human history. you don’t think they would trust his judgment on abandoning something to do something else if he truly thinks it’s for the better? why would you not trust a guy who has saved your race 3 times? (arbiter stopped H2 ring so it’s not 4 times chief has saved the human race).
