Possible spin off games

I know everyone loves Master Chief, but not every game from here on out should focus on him. We need more characters! We need a different persons perspective. These are some possible spin off games I came up with, and I know a lot of people have said some of these.

Halo: ODST 2
----Focuses on what happened to the ODST squad after they won the war. Buck and Dare? Did the one ODST guy recover from his gravity hammer wound? Did the rookie leave to become a spartan IV?

Halo Wars 2
---- We need another halo wars…nuff said

Halo: Infinity or Halo: Crimson
----Obviously infinity is a big part if the story now, and their job is to locate the remaining halo rings. Maybe we can fight on another ring, and as rings keep getting discovered, maybe there could be a sequel. Crimson will be a big part of this story too. I hope 343i goes into his/her story more.

Halo: Insurrection
----In this halo you would switch off from being a spartan IV and a marine fighting the human rebellion on a different planet.

Halo: Reach 2
----If you guys don’t know, reach was only two thirds glassed and humanity began re-colonizing reach. Maybe as we are recolonizing, master chief is trying to stop the Didact from invading reach. I think in this game mater chief would die and he would fall from reach’s orbit and his helmet would land next to noble six’s.

Halo: Sanghellios
----Focuses on the arbiter and rtas, and the good elites. Focuses on the end of the war when Infinity gets involved an how the war ended

That is it. Tell me what you think. See if you guys can come up with some of your own.

Halo 3: ODST 2 - Definitely, without a doubt. It seriously needs a sequel, but i don’t think 343 is interested in side stories. It would truly be nice though. Also, it was Romeo who got stabbed with the back/bladed end of the Gravity Hammer.

Halo Wars 2 - Personally, before Spartan Assault, i was expecting Halo Wars 2 would involve Palmer, but SA, IMO looks somewhat similar to Halo Wars, but the only difference is, you move the character around without clicking an area of interest.

Halo Reach 2 - I actually prefer a “Halo: Return to Reach” with Infinity arriving on the planet to retake it from Covie Remnants and Promies.

If i were to create a spin-off I would call it:

Halo: Spartan Operations - basically, you, as your custom spartan, play thought the game, like an RPG, you get to walk around, buy equipment, weapons, skins, etc. Gain experience. Do quests (missions). Something like that, with a continuous campaign. it would also include a Firefight mode. The entire game itself, you can play up to 16 players in Campaign and in Firefight (however, the maps should be bigger). It will also have MM, but will only feature Slayer, CTF, KotH, Regicide, Assault, and Headhunter (basically gametypes that involve 8 or 10 players). Lastly, it would contain a new mode called, “Survival” were you must survive Flood infestation.

That’s pretty much what i have for now, but there could be many spin-offs, however, if players were to come together and come up with an idea of a spin-off and convince 343i to make it, then it would be a possibility. Then again, the question we always ask is will 343 do it, b/c in order to make a new game, you need a budget in a way.

Ah an exploration Halo game, it’s an interesting concept. I’d love to go around collecting artifacts and being able to do stuff with them. It better have a lot of marines though…

YES.

Agreed, it also needs a gameplay revamp, as it was still too similar to Halo 3.

Needs more factions.

A long time ago I would have decried a RPG Halo. But now I’d love to see a RPG Halo!

Would it have side quests? Ah yeah, an extension would be great.

Halo ODST 2: I defiantly want a sequel to the game that started out as an expansion but became some way bigger. Although ODST still had some problems, most of them small some of them big, anyways here are probably the biggest problems for it.

-longer campaign: Most people I’ve seen have said this game took them about 6 hours on normal. It took me less than 5 hours on normal but I seem to beat Halo campaigns, (with the exception of 4,) in less than average time. Anyways if most people took 6 hours with ODST then they should take 8-10 with ODST 2.

-Expanded open world: No one is complaining about the size of New Mombasa, and we shouldn’t be, it was nice and big. We can go bigger though, I’d say New Mombasa was probably about half a square mile by my measuring, then there is hidden areas and buildings with multiple floors. Now, the main area where you have to explore to find things to progress with the story should remain the same size (about .50 square miles). If we have stuff that goes beyond that area that would be great, so we can go further if we want and don’t have to if we don’t want.

-More Sci-Fi story: What is Halo, a Sci-Fi shooter, what Halo 3 ODST, well, its a shooter, but there’s not much Sci-Fi to it. I really don’t have to explain this more, its quite straight forward.

-More badass guys: Now when I think of an ODST, I think of a Rocket Launcher Dual-Wielding, scorpion driving, hunter shredding badass. When I think of the ODST in Halo 3: ODST, I think of some above average fighters who have cool comedic personalities, still great, but not amazing. Obviously they won’t be like my idea, there not Spartans, but I think they could be tougher.

-More variety: I’d like to have this in any campaign. We typically just shoot, move and occasionally drive a vehicles, now that’s great, but I think we should spend like 5-10% of the game doing other things like; Swimming, jet packing, spying/eavesdropping and so on.

-It’s own multiplayer: So not having a multiplayer was a big upset to most, I thought it was pretty much made up for with firefight, but still, it should’ve had it’s own multiplayer.

-More and Larger Firefight maps: With ODST, firefight was a big, new, innovative feature, it only had 8 maps and 2 of those maps had night variants, I think we should have about 12 and a few night variants. Now map sizes were good, they were generally quite big, with some smaller ones, but I’d like to also have a few giant ones, ones the size of maps like containment.

so those are some things I’d like improved

Halo: Sanghelios could be an amazing spinoff if they focus on writing a strong story, as there’s lots of political and social drama to go by.

Halo Infinity is relevant to the universe but really just re-treads the same ground we’ve been through over and over. Halo 4 and Halo Reach break the formula of “find ring- do -Yoink- on ring - destroy ring”, which I actually appreciate. One thing I disliked about Halo 3 was that the story was so extremely similar to Halo 2, almost being the same exact thing but without the covenant point of view.

Those are the only two spinoffs that have any potential in my opinion.

Halo Reach 2 seems pointless, Reach is hardly relevant to anything going on.

Halo ODST 2 seems even more pointless, ODST’s do not exist anymore and serve no purpose compared to the much superior Spartan IV’s, nor do I even care about the characters from that game.

Halo Insurrection is only remotely relevant to the theme and story of the game, and is thus extremely pointless and would just end up feeling like another modern military shooter.

How were halo 2s and 3s story almost the same?

> How were halo 2s and 3s story almost the same?

Oh no, prophet is going to activate ring.
Let’s go to the ring.
It’s time to blow up the ring.

Really the basic premise behind all three games was the same. Halo 2 stood out solely because it had the Arbiter’s story as well.

I agree and maybe a few about the Forerunner precursor war and the Forerunner human flood war

I would love to have a few breaks from the Master Chief, and 343i has said that they are going to focus just as much attention on spin-offs as they will on the Reclaimer Saga.

> Halo: ODST 2

With ODST’s open-world aspect that made it such a great game, I’d love to see a sequel. It’s obvious that Buck’s squad are extremely memorable characters, and everyone would want to see more of them.

> Halo Wars 2
> ---- We need another halo wars…nuff said

Halo Wars kind of has me on a rough edge with it’s destruction of Ensemble, but it wouldn’t hurt to make a sequel for it, and the ending for it opened up room for more story-telling.

How about just a Spartan Ops Season 2? That would be much better than making an entire new game for it.

> Halo: Insurrection

With the way that the insurrectionists are living peacefully with aliens and not blatantly hating on them like how the UNSC/ONI are…

I’d like to play as the insurrectionists…

I’d like to join their fight for freedom against the imperialist and oppressive UEG.

It’s clear that the insurrectionists are currently the only ones worthy of inheriting the mantle, and it’s clear that the UNSC is no longer as glorious as it used to be…

I’m sorry… But this is beyond crazy…

Reach was almost completely glassed by the Covenant, they only spared a small Forerunner complex. (which was later destroyed)

Reach was also deprived of all relevance to the story. And the plot that you (or anyone I’ve seen so far) suggested for it really didn’t make much sense.

Instead of making a sequel to Halo: Reach, I’d like a prequel that focuses on Noble Team’s previous endeavors. Or one that is about Noble Six’s career as a lone-wolf assassin.

This I’d like.

With the story of Thel 'Vadam being butchered by the evil horrors of Karen Traviss, only a full-on game centering around the Arbiter could repair the irreversible damage.

In that sense then I agree, but I would like to point out that the prophet was trading to activate all of the rings at once. Therefore making the story 7 times bigger…: ). All kidding aside though, I found the arbiter levels tedious and boring. The story elements it brought were much appreciated.

I would love to see Halo Wars 2 before any other spinoff game. Maybe have it intergrated with Smartglass a little? Oh yea!

Other than that I would like to have a fps during the Human/Forerunner War and the Forerunner/Flood War. Would be a great way to catch up some fans that don’t read the books and to also get a completly new Sandbox of guns and vehicles.

Any game revolving around the Arbiter and the Elites is a plus in my book.

I want to see a game focused on the ship to ship fights The Fall of Reach featured so excitingly. I’ve always loved the canon behind them. I’d set it on the Pillar of Autumn on her original mission (i.e. Reach was never invaded/glassed), to capture a Covenant ship and use it to capture and return one of the Prophets. (This would basically be an alternate ending to the Human/Covenant war.)

Game play would be like the books, where there is a heavy focus on maneuvering the Pillar of Autumn (and later the captured Covenant ship) around Covenant ships, and striking with MAC, Archer missiles and HAVOK nukes.

The best part of it all, is we’d get to see Captain Keyes, Sgt. Johnson, Cortana and all the Spartan IIs together again.

i personally think that a halo game based on different species is most needed. we have only played 6 campaign levels in the entire franchise as a non-human after all.

I think they could just expand on Spartan Assault seeing as though they now have a game available on PC and mobile. I am playing that at the moment and really enjoying it. Maybe release it on X-Box arcade or something as well.
