So, we all know of the many issues with Halo Infinite. it’s about as controversial as Halo Reach. We’re aware of what everyone has complained about, for fair reasons, SO, let’s stop whining and complaining… and offer solutions. Will 343 listen? The past says no, BUT, this is the future of Halo, we can’t just roll over and accept it. Either it’s dead here, or we help fix it, and see it improve.
Now keep in mind, these are my opinions on solutions. If you have different ones, that’s perfectly fine, we all have an opinion like having a space barbie. So, let’s get into it
- CUSTOMIZATION
I know, I know… people complain specifically on this, we’l get into gameplay and what not in a moment, but I want to get the solutions for this out first before the other stuff.
1- Get rid of armor coatings. INSTEAD. Have the player only have a Primary color to choose freely. But what about Secondary? or an option emplace of coatings? I got you there! let’s be kind to 343 whiles also giving the players more options. let’s add these to the customization menu; Armor materials and Armor patterns. So what are they? you may be pondering.
Armor Materials are just Material changes to how your armor/colors are, as it says on the tin. for instance, a ‘glossy’ material, silky smooth, almost bubbly looking on the armor. or a ‘rusty’ material, battle worn, torn, this armor has seen the eye of battle, and came out of hell many times. Or a ‘sparkly’ material, of course sparkly, and shiny armor, bright and vibrant. something any space barby needs.
But what about secondary? hold your horses, again, i got you and 343. with Armor patterns. have them be where the colors are on your spartan, and pending on the pattern, give the player another color picker. for instance, a ‘Rainbow’ pattern, gives the player 5 total color slots for each line of color on the rainbow. or a ‘MKV[B]’ pattern, gives the player a secondary color that’l be where it was on the Reach armor. or a ‘MK6’ pattern, giving the player the secondary and tertiary color options and locations of H3.
2- Armor kits. Remove them from the shop and BP, and turn them into armor presets. as someone who goes between many armor pieces in halo, having a way to save a preset (akin to TF2) would be wonderful.
3- Another player option that 343 can put into shops would be Tech suit customization. In MCC, 343 gave H3 tech suit customization, so why not do the same for Infinite? we already see something of the sorts in certain armor coatings, with the tech suits looking more silky or rubbery.
4- Kill effects are cool and all… but remove them from the weapon customization. and here’s why: In Halo Reach there was armor effects for both when you were living and dead, the down side is that you could only have one and not both. So why not have that as personal customization rather than when someone kills you? Have ‘armor effects’ be for when you’re living, like for legendary, and inclement weather. and have ‘Death effects’ be for… well, when you die. this would be for things like GBP and Heart attack.
5- Multiple helmet/chest attachments. as long as they don’t overlap… why not have the player select multiple attachments for the given slot? Same goes with Weapon attachments.
- BP/SHOP
I’m aware another thing people overly complain about… but this is for solutions, not complaints
The BP: Needs a re-work, we all know that. but considering 343 are bringing Yori armor from the shop back into the event BP. Why can’t the same apply to the ‘Heroes of Reach’ BP? and aside from the items… certain things need re-arranged in it. i can’t do all 100 tiers as that’l be too long, but essentially…
There shouldn’t be any armor for the MK7, everything should be for the MK5[B], shoulders need to be in the same slot, all of the Reach armor, Auntie dot AI and animated AI auntie dot color, 1 noble team emblem, the stances, and hay if there’s enough room, then have the cutting room floor Reach armor, like the GRD, mariner, and exo chest piece. GBP death effect and legendary armor effect. no challenges swaps either or armor coatings (because of prior suggestions) but how do we know all will fit into 100 teirs? MCC season 1 says so, excluding of course the FF voices and the Elite armors.
but then what will be free if everything will be for the MK5[B] armor core? well, the core itself, and some low teir armor. such as the jump jet shoulders, odst chest pieces, hazop shoulders, tac hardcase utility, etc… but higher pieces, like the commando shoulders, noble helmets, odst helmet, grenadier knee guards etc… will be for the premium users. that way both free users and paying users get good stuff but the free dudes get lesser whiles still being worthwhile stuff.
The SHOP: look, I personally don’t mind semi weird armor in Halo, MCC’s additions aren’t terribly bad for both reach and 3 (admittedly some of the medieval armors are… too much) but for the most part they work. the cat ears aren’t the craziest thing, they’re fine personally. and the Mister chief AI is just a inside joke, what’s wrong with it? it’s funny, and again, i don’t mind it. BUT, what needs to change is the prices. Lower prices will be faaar more effective in the long run, say 5-8 bucks, rather than a quarter of AAA game, 20 is just too much. i’d be willing to pay 8 for a couple weapon skins and a armor material than a 20.
The PROGRESSION: It’s close enough to the topic at hand, but i tell you what… just wanting to play the game, and progressing towards something without doing the challenges just is impossible. A simple Progression system (akin to MCC) would be wonderful. In each match you get a ‘score’ for medals, kills, and assists. so what not have that be the XP for this progression system. i’m not asking for rewards, just a medal that gets better the better or longer i play
the BP gets xp with challenges
and the progression system gets per match score/skill based xp
- GAMEPLAY
Yup, the meaty stuff now. Here i’l be talking about the Weapons and Vehicles, and how i’d balance them.

WEAPONS
AR: Increase the spread of it, as in its current state, it is actually unfun to fight against, and i feel cheep when i get a kill with it, at full blast. It’s a lazer blaster rather than a cone that a full auto assault rifle should be.
COMMANDO: Lower the spread, but keep the recoil as a trade off for a full auto precision weapon, if not increase it.
SIDEKICK: Reduce the fire rate and accuracy, it should be a side-arm, NOT a mini precision weapon.
GRAVITY HAMMER: keep the huge range, BUT, when in use, lower the user’s sprint speed. it’l inforce more use of the sandbox (like the grappling hook or repulser) and be fairer to those who want to get away from a melee combat. also force the melee user to have a good secondary on hand.
ENERGY SWORD: allow players to melee block it, and only the sword. it’s only fair, what with the fast swing speed and lunge.
STALKER RIFLE: Decrease the fire rate, and make the shots to EMP vehicles 3-4 shots. 2 shots to EMP is actually annoying, i am fully unable to use a vehicle, and i personally feel so bad when stunning a player for like 30 seconds, just enough for the health to be shredded by anything.
PLASMA PISTOL: decrease the EMP charge, but have homing onto vehicles and bring back the ability to EMP vehicles. have it be a oppose to the Disruptor.
RAVAGER: make the base fire actually useful. in its current form, the only use of it is the ULT charge fire, or better yet, lower the ammo cost, but remove the primary fire, and just have the ULT charge fire be its form of AOE fire charge.
PULSE CARBINE: better the tracking.
HYDRA: When on lock-on, make it 1 or 2 more rockets to knock a spartan. the current fire-rate and ttk makes it frustrating to fight against with the current damage. 1 or 2 more rockets to kill will do nicely.
BULLDOG: for a shotgun… it really can snipe. increase the spread whiles increasing the fire rate, or lower the effective range but up the damage. -
VEHICLES
UNIVERSAL: Up the health ten fold, and better the physics. currently, things like hogs, gooses, and choppers get stuck on nothing, and at times flip from nothing, like a gust of wind hit them
WARTHOG: Bring back the over-heat for the chaingun
WARTHOG(S)/MONGOOS(ES): it feels like the tires are overly bouncy, make them less so. BUT to keep the feel, have there be suspension. Like how the hog/goose were in Reach/4/5/2:A
SCORPION: Please for the love of everything holly, improve the steering and movement controls. Halo Reach IMO had the best Tank controls, despite being ported. Infinite’s tank feels like i’m fighting the game just to move forward or even turn
BANSHEE: have the Banshee Bomb do actual damage, rather than being a nerf dart. whiles also having the blast range being low
WRAITH: the turret shield’s recharge rate needs lowered. it’s kinda impossible to kill the gun-man without stunning the vehicle
AND that’s it. Yup. those’re my suggestions on how to improve the game. Being player friendly, whiles also considering what 343 is doing with Halo (weather we like it or not) it’s F2P, and we have to accept that, but that doesn’t mean we have to entirely give in. 343 has heard the complaints, NOW they must hear the suggestions for said complaints.
