Possible Showtime Halo Series Timeline Discovered

The article is referring to a casting notice for both the Chief and Halsey (and another character I’m unfamiliar with) but they are calling for an actress within the age of 55-65. If Halsey is this age that means the show will be taking place way after the creation of the Spartan II program. Although this isn’t confirmed, I will be disappointed if we don’t see the making of Spartans from the day they are kidnapped. I always envisioned a live action scene of Halsey and 2 officers approaching a school and we eventually see all the kids playing king of the hill.

Discuss.

From what the article stated,
“so it is likely that the series will focus on the later stage of her life when she worked to protect her Spartan creations rather than simply raising them for war.”,
It is possible that we are going to see the Halo universe through her eyes. Her interpretations of the numerous events during the Halo timeline, leading up to whatever comes next in the series. Now consider the trend that a lot of the recent TV shows have taken, using both flashbacks and time jumps, I would not put it past the producers to show the origins and and eventual evolution of the Spartan Program.
I get the idea of retelling the origin story, but there is the risk of alienating the fans who want to stay true to what they remember of the Halo lore. With the presentation of new material, it could add to the lore and maybe keep fans interested in what’s to come.

Flashbacks and time jumps would be awesome. If that were the case, the casting call for a 55-65 year old actress would be for one of the Halsey’s? Either that or they would just use make up or CGI to lower the age of the actress for those parts.

I love a well put together plot that is pieced together through small parts that keep the viewer guessing until the end! Some Memento type ish would be amazing (only in the sense that there are flashbacks. Would hate to have it be black and white this day and age).

I certainly hope that’s the case. Just about finishing up The Haunting of Hill House and I like how the time jumps in that series does. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. I’m sure there are casting notices we haven’t seen and a potential young Halsey could be cast.

Taking into consideration that companies like Marvel have extensively used de-aging through their more recent films, the technology is there to do it. However, what Marvel had access to was a historical film database of the actors in their past films. This made the process that much easier to use the de-aging technique. Taking someone new or a relatively unknown actor/actress may prove a bit more challenging, but I’m sure it can be done.
I mean, if they can make Peter Dinklage look like a giant for a film then anything is possible.
